this is probably gonna be our last chapter here since mangadex is going corpo, its been nice scanslating for you guys (maybe if you guys are lucky enough a new chapter will come out soon)
There is no need to jump out of the ship if nothing is happening. And at this point this manga cannot even be considered "loli" anymore. Also no fanservice at all.

There are probably paths that the orcs prefer traveling in the forest, so she probably would have figured out where to set traps.

Like I said, she couldn't have placed them near the orc camp because the regular patrols would have noticed the traps, like after stepping into them. The traps would have needed to remain hidden until the orc troops started marching toward the human town. However, it's not like the orcs kept continuously sending groups of brutes to check out the human town, so Aria wouldn't know where to set the traps.

But, traps require a lot of time in a forest.

I said what I said because she should have had some spare time, from hunting and poisoning. She would also be under consistent stress since she couldn't possibly know when the orcs were planning to launch their assault. She made a good guess with offering the animal carcasses, imagining it might satisfy the orcs for a while, postponing the attack. No guarantees, though. The orc general might have just suddenly one day felt like attacking and that would be it. So, building traps could have allowed her to cope with the pressure.

You have to dig holes, or cut trees for spikes. So first I would say that she didn't have the manpower for such a plan, because she's not preparing traps for a few opponents but for an entire village of orcs.

Every orc down count. Furthermore, if she could have prepared a field of traps, even if they were rather flimsy traps, concentrated in a suitable place, she could have used the chaos to launch sneak attacks, when the orcs' attention was elsewhere.

I'd say that traps make more sense near the human village in a siege situation. There's some distance between the village taken over by the orcs and the human village, so once she was locked in to the plan of observing and poisoning them, to ensure she can react whenever they decide to attack the human village, there was no leeway to go back. Traps would have been the responsibility of the soldiers back at the village and they were busy just evacuating.

Let's hope Kevin and his merry bunch had the wits to think that far ahead and prepare traps. I wouldn't count on it.

Talk shit get hit bro.

The orc hunt was quite memorable in the books. Probably one of the closest battles to her dying, they were waiting on a Rank 4 for good reason.

Thanks for the chappy.

A whole month to evacuate a village? Slower than the DMV 🐌
Given it's sick and old people, all the supplies said sick and old people need, and needing places to take both people and supplies so that they remain safe and stable and the need for safe and stable transport, all done by a ghost crew of soldiers who also have constant active guard duty -

I mean, it's not outlandish it'd take awhile.

I remember when I was reading Orcs were one of her hardest fights, relatively to her power at moments of fights, but it also makes it the most epic and glorious

To your point about traps - I agree with most of what you said, except for the bit about using the village itself as a giant trap. Ostensibly, this orc force will be wiped out, and the humans who'd been forced out could return to their homes. Setting everything on fire might work in routing the orcs, but it'd also destroy any remaining chances of the villagers getting to come back, meaning all the survivors are entirely displaced (which has its own knock-on effects).
Minor point that was mentioned in the LN, but seemingly skipped in the manga: the village the orcs are occupying was long abandoned, they didn’t force anyone out. Much like actual animals, they generally avoid human territory until they run out of food.

Quite a bit of life left in these orcs still. You can only imagine how they would be in full health.

That being said, I somewhat expected Aria to prepare more during the long weeks. It's not like a bit of hunting and poisoning the water and food would have taken all of her time. But maybe she thought preparing traps would be useless if the terrain is such that she wouldn't have any idea which route the orcs would take when finally departing for the human town. She couldn't have placed traps too close to the orc camp either, lest the regular patrols spot them.
There's also the issue of clearing of landmines. With the size of those orcs, she has to make a pretty big and deadly trap.

Now imagine if she has to make a lot of it and at random places so she can effectively restrict their movement. It's going to be a pain to clear them out afterwards

I bet somebody will be killed by her traps after this event if she were to go with this strategy.

4 whole weeks, I feel like she could have used more guerilla tactics and picked off a couple of them patrolling regularly. Even if they became more vigilant because of it, it's less reckless than dealing with all 50 of them at once even if weakened.

They are now a registered company in the UK. It is pretty clear where things are going.
Just like when i migrated here from tachiyomi after they went corpo :aquadrink: . I wonder if they'll last as long as that site did after the whole ordeal, but more than that i should finally message the people I've been curious about in the comment sections, cuz the worst loss won't be the mangas but the community.

While traps would thin out their number, it would also alert them of her presence, and they would be all on guard instead. If not try to hunt her down.
