Important reminder: he talks like using the Holy Sword is a huge setback, and I suppose it is, but he's said that the speed running clear time with it was eight hours, and with the Obsidian Sword four hours. And that was apparently before the discovery of skipping Arachne to warp to Apocalypse, after which point the floor became two hours.
Granted, that was to defeat the Demon Lord, not to get the True Ending with all the Elite Four dead. It also doesn't take into account any possible moral implications, like reducing harm to innocent civilians or infrastructure. Not to mention what was brought up in this chapter.
Still. Our boy is wicked smart.
I like the idea of him having speed running tech, but it going off script. A.K.A. blind speed running.
Thanks for the chapter!
Yeah. It's more important for speedrunners who don't just reset like "entertainment" speedrunners like those at AGDQ*, or in games with comparatively long speedruns, but adaptability is an important skill for speedrunners. For one thing it's good to know the game forward and backward, helps with planning new strats.
*Clarification: AGDQ and other entertainment speedrunners can and do run competitive speeduns, I'm just saying there's a branching skillset to hone in addition to normal speedrun tech.
