this is a interesting concept, she doesn't have those horns for long so she won't few bad about losing them and i don't think it hurts, the pain was probably from pushing her head too hard, this reminds me of zero two from darling in the franxx that shortened her horns because big horns only get in the way of a "human" being hahahah i mean she will use on what?

I don't know anything about fictional dragon horns, but animal horns tend to grow as hair projections or bony protrussions that start off as having nervous and blood supply then not having any in some cases. So really just depends, sometimes it is like cutting your hair and sometimes it is like cutting off a finger in terms of pain

in this case it looks painless i think that the pain was from pushing her head too hard, and to be honest it looks like it will grow back really fast, i mean she woke up with those horns all of sudden after all haahhahaa

I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and assume Ruri called up her mom to check if the horns were safe to break, but this could've gone really badly, especially looking at how close to the base it broke.

As I parse it, everything from "I've got a wild idea" on Page 14, up to "ol' lefty has gotta go too" on Page 18 are Maeda describing the plan. Not actual events. Both horns are present and wrapped up in the middle left panel on 18.

No horns were snapped in the making of this chapter!

Nah, This is clearly a "skip-ahead + flashback" pattern, you see it pretty often in manga and anime. How can you tell? Easy:

1. The gutters (whitespace between panels) on the last page have a fade to a darker colour, which is a classic way to indicate a flashback;
2. On the bottom-left of page 14 (right next to "You're looking like a real villain"), you can see a small empty rectangle/panel. Like darker gutters indicating a flashback, manga artists use those to indicate a bit of time passing between panels. It's more obscure than my previous point, but if you pay attention they do it all the time in tons of manga.
