Yeah, everything is pointing out to her being abused by her father as well, if that were the case obviously she wouldn't want for the murderer to die. What I hope though is that the mom isn't hoping to adopt her as a replacement for Yuri, that but about her not liking corn "just like Yuri" was a bit worrying... both Kazuma and his mom should really go to therapy to properly grief and heal.

I feel for the MC so much. It would feel like youre getting in the way of their happiness while you cant escape your grief. Maybe they want you there, but you’ll just get in the way. Without reading ahead (and thus without spoiling anything) we can remember that the very first chapter (on its page 36) has shown all of us that someone is actively doxxing Matsumoto Shiika online.

Might be some Chekhov's gun — a foreshadowing of someone's intention to find her and harm her somehow.

Whatever that doxxer is planning (a rape, an assault, some bullying, etc.) is going to make him very sorry when it becomes apparent that his target is secretly an imouto of not just a former convict, but also well-known to have once commited a gruesome murder under very similar circumstances.

From an outsider's viewpoint that intention might even offer a decent amount of grim irony if it unfolds.

BTW if Shiika is actually forgiving, kudos to her, but if she wants to make the MC suffer, also kudos to her, this story has a great potential to be a great redemption or a great tragedy.

I understand MC is traumatized by guilty, but still, it's like he didn't had 7 years to think about and calm his feelings. He is behaving like he killed the dude yesterday.

Also, of course people will shun him, but after almost everyone sided with Abe's killer, which as a popular politician, is hard to accept now these stories with the character feeling like every single person will point at him negatively in the streets.

People tend to leash out without knowing the whole picture, but doubt thing as "teenager killed a pedophile" would make people blame him, it's entirely in his head although people blamed Kazuma mother, that's irrational, her daughter has committed suicide after being raped. They couldn't be that stupid to not connect the dots.

Kazuma seeing his mom happiness and adopting Shiika, thinking that with him out of the picture would solve her grief, but if she would really blame him, she wouldn't be there for him but disowned him and cut him off. He really isn't thinking straight.

Clearly Shiika isn't blaming Kazuma for what he did, moreover think her parasite of a parent did try something to her sexually as it tend to look for it's pray in closest surroundings. Might be that Shiika is actually grateful for what Kazuma did...

Really hope they will heal their wounds together, Kazuma would be absolutely overprotective brother to her but in all good ways.
