Here's my issue with this latest chapter, concluding Kaede's arc. The author tries to present this as a conclusion, as a story-telling end. The clear message is that overcoming trauma isn't always a clean or even obviously positive thing, and yet you should still always try.

But the problem with how the author wrote it is that it feels... Shallow. It feels self-defeating.

I realized it as I'm writing this. We literally went from the knife incident with the rapist teacher last chapter and Kaede's dramatic declaration of happiness. Now, in this chapter, we see Kaede's monologue of nothing big happening even if you decide to take a step forward.

It's not a contradiction because the author wrote "Even if there is a huge trigger", but it makes... a lot of the last few chapters pointless.

It is also just overall bad pacing and flow.

It's amazing how rushed it felt, axe-like even, yet we get another "arc" in this story, lol.
Overall, I'd rate this part of the story medicore, mostly because of the last few chapters. Until then, everything was, like, super fun to read. But last 2-3 chapters left huge bitter aftertaste. I'd never expect that:

• Kaede will still be hurt,
• Tsubasa despite trying to "be strong" is still mental about her believes (especially funny was that part, where she said she wants to more adultlike, but at the same time this bitch is still putting herself ("I'll meet wonderful prince next time") above Kaede because of his past lol), now only even more deeply convinced that sex may lead to even bigger problems in life.

This arc could be half of it's original lenght if author wanted just to say "being abnormal is actually normal".

And oh boy, is psychiatry in Japan even a thing? I mean... I kinda understand that author wanted to be authentical and I guess mental healthcare in Japan isn't a hot topic, but... C'mon... At least try to incorporate some healthy behaviours into your mass media stuff... Dude was raped as a child and his parents never send him to see specialist? And they are "proud" of him, because he "resolved everything alone"? Very lovely family... I don't know, maybe it'd be better IF the child was send to therapy and then in show it'd be shown that eveything takes time... They could make literally the same story, but with some healthy message to the world. I don't know, at least that's my take on it.

The climax was an asspull, author also wanted to dabble on another idea with that one asexual guy while writing Kaede's story.
I think I've seen everything that this author can pull off, I'm putting this series in "on hold" tab until i forgot about it

Well I have a lot of mixed feelings about this chapter, it felt truly rushed to the point where It seemed like it was going to be axed.
If it gets worse in the next arc I think it may have been better if it had been axed. Although I also felt like the ending of this chapter is a good ending point to be honest, it kinda has a nice bit of self reflection. Although a lot seemed to be left unanswered, but that what life is like.

Guess this is the end for me. I hated this anthalogy bs with Nande koko sensei as well, even though it sometimes overlapped, the later ones were just not as good as the first ones, even though there they sort of had their conclusions. This isn't the case here. Super rushed and unrewarding as far as a closure goes.

They broke up and have full and mutual acknowledgement that they are not the right people for each other. Kaede is not the "prince" for her not because of his past, he's not the prince because they both found out that they are incompatible.

And in the middle of it all, we move on to another arc, mmmh i feel conflicted, but i guess that's the point to make the reader feel anxious and unease too

Well that was dark, it's like a fairy tale where Tsubasa couldn't empathize so she was granted the curse of also having PTSD lol. Kinda messed up.
Wondering where this will go after but probably won't be reading as diligently, after sitting with it that "twist" was a bit too silly for me.

I still do not like her. I can care less if she 'matured' enough to realize what a bitch she was being to him regarding his past. She only realized it when she was called out by her friend at being an absolute asshole, otherwise she would have continued being said asshole. Nah screw her, it's why when she got stabbed/slashed I didn't feel a single ounce of empathy for her
