I'm not buying it. She could be smiling for a bunch of reasons. Mainly the fact that Kyouko still tried to get with Rei even after Rio told her she shouldn't, she could be internally laughing thinking Kyouko still tried anyway even though Rio doesn't think she would have a chance or something. Or maybe her smile is in connection to some baggage her and husband have gone through in relationship to cheating in marriage


Also debating if that initial '...' from Momoka before she responded is implying something.


Or maybe this is just being completely straight. Regardless of whichever it is it should be good anyway. If it's not Rio we still got a mystery to unfold to look towards to, if it is then I'm ready for the massive bitchfest that should be coming eventually.

I wouldn't say it's lucky just because Mahoro deliberately designed that situation by inviting Rio. Also the author has hoodwinked us a couple of times already so it's pretty much still left in the air. It could be that Mahoro wass just seeing what she wanted to see.
