This chapter felt very real. This is why initiatives like DEI hiring are necessary, because humans often tend to discriminate or favor people based on race, gender, or religion.

It also reminds us that women everywhere face oppression in different forms, whether in Afghanistan or Korea, the difference is only in degree. In both places, for example, women are often expected to depend on their husbands for basic things like working a job.

This chapter was too real. This is why stuff like DEI hiring is needed. Because humans always looking to descriminate or help people on basis of race, gender or religion.

This also reminds us thats women everywhere are oppressed in different ways, be it in Afganistan or Korea, just the degree is different. Like in both they have to be dependent on their husband for basic stuff like working a job.
Dei hiring leads to more discrimination as people are given jobs over other more qualified or equally qualified people. It causes a lot of resentment in the workforce. Just now she wasn't anything close to a DEI hire it's a legitimate concern that an employee who turns down full time work then changes her mind might change her mind again. Especially when they're young and at the age of having children. its not /fair/ but life isn't and for a business it's a potential problem to move people around from full to part time willy nilly

Dunno about that chief, all we need to do is to look at what it did to gaming journalism or journalism as a whole, or even just gaming. Ubisoft can't make a proper game now because they replaced all competent people with DEI hires for that sweet sweet blackrock money
