I know it's morally wrong but contacting her husband is really stupid idea and could backfire.

Think Mahoro should've consulted Momoka first to see of thats a good idea. Husband will talk to Rio and then Rio is gonna be fuming. She will then tell Rei and then things should be kicking into super high gear.

Assuming if Rio is cheating, then guessing it's because he's not around a lot.

imagine if she was just messy and petty and cheated with him for 'revenge' but i imagine this is gonna be more grounded

He does deserve to know but it'd be pretty ironic(?) if all the bar hopping stuff meant he was cheating too

Tho idk if a pic of them eating together is enough versus actual kissing

I'm kinda surprised Mahoro even questions why the photo wouldn't work as evidence.

All the photo shows is Rei in the company of some third party who just so happens to be a woman. Clearly Mahoro is biased in this situation because of how Rei has treated her; but if you try to go to court with only this, then all it'll likely turn into is just a "he said, she said" moment and you've hit a dead end. Rei can easily lie about the nature of this meeting with Rio, and there's nothing that can serve as proof to the contrary. Which, as far as I know, Mahoro has not once considered.

Thank you for the translation.

The way I interpreted that was less "why won't this photo work as evidence?" and more "it's my feelings and marriage, why do I have to prove anything in the first place?" Mahoro is pretty silly, but I don't think she's so silly that she would actually wonder why no one would accept her blurry photo as evidence.

It must be soul crushing to be where she is, where the only options are to convince complete strangers you are entitled to a divorce or to put yourself at the mercy of an abusive spouse.

This is it. When she says justice she's talking about the world's (mainly the legal system's) perception of her marriage situation.

Why should she have to prove her husband is cheating? Why aren't her feelings alone valid enough of a reason to leave?

No wonder why "husband dies in mysterious circumstances" is such a plot point in stories set in countries without no fault divorce.

Every time I worry that Mahoro's done something dumb, it works out. But I really worry this time, because Rio's husband is a complete unknown. Who's to say he doesn't confront Rio and wreck the investigation? Or that he's not in on it because they have an open relationship?

The most soap opera twist would be Rio's husband trying to murder Rei. Or Mahoro. Or both.

Fair enough. I can see that.

uff... was that a really good idea? idk
With her "Evidence" there's TOO much of a chance he'll confront Rio and TELL HER WHO SEND IT. Causing her POS Cheater of a husband to find out.

It's FAR too easy for Rio or her gutless Husband to go "We were only having a fun conversation as friends! Can't believe she has such a paranoid part of herself that she'd stalk us or assume cheating!" Notice she DID show annoyance that the law needed her to have PROOF because she's in the ANGRY stage that she feels she shouldn't HAVE to prove anything! But yeah she underestimates how SHAMELESS Cheaters are. They're ALREADY unrepentant liars" with how they were HIDING the affair from you. So no SHOCKER they'd STILL continue to lie!

Survey says "Not enough!" It's too easy for Rio to say they were spending time together as "Acquaintances" and "she didn't know FMC was this insecure that she was STALKING & taking pictures" to make FMC the bad guy! Her only hope is that HE started getting suspicious of his wife and the pic is enough to give him EVIDENCE to himself that she is INDEED cheating on him

Other than some cunning killer 'girlboss' chara i assume most would suspect the wife first unless the family's rich and cover it up like "oh he slept around with everyone/was only after our family money/business"

that said it might be a passive aggressive threat but be hilarious if someone printed out a lot of articles/books about husbands being bad and mysterious dying left sent as a 'gift' to some ppl's husbands XD
