It's pretty messed up that the will of the world is seemingly doing everything it can to destroy that world, by giving power to total lunatics who care nothing about collateral damage, or any damage really, whereas the demon lord is trying to save the world by stopping those lunatics. So, in fact one might surmise that the will of the world considers humans an unnecessary existence. Maybe the elves are still okay, since they seemed to be forest elves in this story.
