@Ulfhednar neither do the Slavic languages, to the best of my knowledge.
All in all, I feel that enforcing the distinction between poison and venom, as if it's some key difference, is a very weak argument, bordering on trolling. See, for instance,
BBC writing about venomous snakes: "One snake's
poison may not be like another's, even if they are from the same species." At the end of the day, the purpose of a translation is making the original author's meaning understandable in another language. Would it have been better had venom been translated as "venom", not "poison"? Yeah. Has this small irregularity kept anyone from understanding what the intended meaning was? Not at all. So it's just not a big deal.
@emmie_dee Stark will now have to keep the cloak, same as he had to keep the handkerchief Fern gave him to wipe blood while fighting the demons! With time, Stark will have to haul around a whole second set of Fern's clothing, cause throwing it away will feel ungrateful, and Fern won't take the items with his cooties on them back!
