Thank you for the chapter! Called it, under a tree is a classic place to bury treasure. Got the type of tree wrong though. I wish we got to see the necklace a bit better though, or see her wearing it while she was seeing him off. If we did, my eyes didn't pick up on it. I can't wait to see what Kaushman has left behind for Aesir to find.

The reason why I love this manga is how melancholic it feels. Life goes on even if you're functionally immortal. People you know live and die, but you stay the same. All you can do is hold onto their memories. And I love seeing how the MC's existance influences the lives, deaths, and families of their loved ones.

It's why I like Frieren a lot.

I kinda wanna see how Aesir would react if a mortal he thought would have passed away for sure from old age was actually still kicking around somehow.
"Eh, speak up, I can't hear so good anymore.", "My eyes aren't what they used to be, but you kind of look like my old friend Aesir, but he was an elf! Don't suppose you ever met an elf?", "Eh, what was that? Did you say Aesir? Why that's the name of my old friend! He was an elf! Don't suppose you ever met an elf?"

On one hand, it does suck that he's missing out on seeing the people he saw in the first cycle at least once before they die. On the other hand, if he really were to go around visiting everyone he's ever met, he'd be going in circles. Kaeha and the dojo were a special case.

I don't think his late friends would want him to end up in a cycle like that. The real question though, is how good his memory is.

As the saying goes, every person dies two deaths: once when they physically die, and again when all memory of them is gone.
