Rentarou literally caught letters, like the kind that you read in a book, except these ones just exist in real life. He didn’t break the fourth wall, now he’s editing it, to be fair he could have just gone and helped draw this chapter like he did before, would have been easier for him. And I guess he just super glued or taped them to each and every panel.

Karane is so goddamn adorable I just want to hug her. And now what’s Shizuka up to? Is she really going through her rebellious phase? Will Nano comment on her acting like a small animal again? Will she finally raise her voice since normally she’s too quiet to be heard? All these questions and more will be answered on the next (web) page!

I mean, "The Big Cheese of the Publishing Biz" is as much a construct as anything else here, so it's very likely the whole idea of a publisher objection is made up just to further the story, but I wonder if the supposed "no-can-do" is just about intentionality?

Maybe half a dozen times in relatively recent manga I've seen an underage character get "drunk" accidentally. It's usually that they're such a lightweight that something with no or minimal alcohol content — whiskey bonbons, amazake, or "kids' beer" — gets them instantly sloshed, or that they unknowingly consumed something — caffeine or certain mushrooms are popular — that reacted with their unusual body chemistry to produce the same effect. The only difference to the proposed party is that they'd be actively trying to produce the same effect.
