I find Rakan a rather tragic figure, to be honest - he's so disconnected from everyone around him, even the most important people in the world are faceless game pieces, while the handful of people he actually cares about and actually sees as /people/ are at best distant (Ruomen), or at worst find him disgusting (Maomao).

But at the same time it's kind of heartwarming that he does, in fact, see Maomao as a person. He's pretty badly messed up, but he's still a loving father . . . if only his daughter hadn't been messed up so badly herself, they might have been a happy family.
