Really like the dynamic Kyo and Moe got going on.

I’m always a sucker for the “one-note ditzy comedic relief side-character the MC hates develops into a real character, and ends up his closest bro and wingman” trope. When it’s done right it’s peak character development for both characters.

So this was an elaborate gyaru origin story all along, then we get the high school teasing gyaru x former chuuni loner guy manga

Kyoutarou dyeing his hair to match Anna when. He's already willing to try edgy fashion styles, hair dye shouldn't be that big of a leap, right...?

Aw. Y'know its a small thing compared to that impactful finale, but him genuinely befriending a girl he used to just grimly mentally shit-talk is really sweet. The arc of this kid who was kinda drowning in misery and using being wierd/'dark' as a way to push the world away... it's touching seeing him get to his level.
That he's been so forgiving toward a certain someone who less than a year ago literally called him a slime in front of Yamada is truly amazing. That said certain someone has herself completely reevaluated him over time, though, is peak side-character growth.

Honestly it really is kind of an amazing friendship arc when you think about it, huh...? From complete mutual loathing to now...

I’m just glad the series didn’t end after the confession. I hope Ichikawa finds something he can fully immerse himself as well because if he only got Yamada he’ll feel left out or out of place whenever Yamada focuses on modeling or acting. It’s hard being with someone like Yamada not because she isn’t a good partner but because of her work. Wonder how their relationship will be throughout high school, college, and marriage

Hopefully his friend doesnt turn hateful after this.

anyways its like I have the Yamada Jealous mindset but Ichikawa and Moe are somehow getting friendlier and friendlier. Is the mangaka trying to hint some undisclosed feelings there on Moe's side perhaps?

Love the fact that Moe and Icchi's relationship improved over the years. From the start Moe did like Icchi as Yamada's partner, as she always ended up covering for both of them.

Even Moe didn't have concrete proof that the two are a couple, she still kept her suspicion. What a great wingman.

I forgot. Did he want to get in the same school as Yamada?
Yamada wants to go to Hinata I think. It's either Syugakukan is close to Hinata, or that he wants to prove his mettle by going to a prestigious school. Essentially, he's finally giving it his all after his failed attempt in his previous middle school entrance exams which discouraged him to do anything worthwhile, until he met Yamada.

are we really introducing a new love interest in chapter 117? i really don't want a love triangle thing now...
That’s not how it is at all. That’s one of kyotaros old friends from elementary school. If anything this will be about kyotaro getting over his inferiority complex for not getting into a private school whilst his 2 close friends did.

Also dude clearly isn’t good with girls so I don’t think it’ll be much competition.
That was quite obviously a joke tho
i must be misremembering the definition for obvious.
Seemed obvious to me, maybe I'm wrong? like look at how it's written and the context, there's no way someone would unironically think what he wrote there
Two points:
  1. People can't hear your sarcastic tone on the internet. Regardless of how extreme your sarcasm/irony/whatever is, people are going to misunderstand it because of Poe's law.
    • To mitigate this, use tone indicators. Put them inside spoilers, if they bother you too much. (three dots next to text color selection > button with the mask icon)
  2. There have been a few very dumb serious takes in the discussion of this manga before, so expectations can be pretty low.

Yeah, kinda guessed she'd bleach her hair, considering the character she's playing has light hair according to the image earlier in this same chapter.

Also worth noting that the description of the character as having to take care of her two younger brothers... Chii has two younger brothers that I think she has to help take care of, but clearly the character is a bit of a gal, so this Miria is like a cross between Chii's home life and Moe's social life, I assume.

And yeah... shocker of one of his old elementary school buddies finding out little Kyo has a girlfriend. A girlfriend that's gone quite gal for this outing, so Kinoshita's basically thinking 'Kyo's with a gal?!' I bet. The truth is probably going to be even more shocking, though. Seriously, the guy's bagged an actress and pro model.

Kyo should be proud of his social accomplishments and not let the fact he didn't get into a private middle school bring him down ever again. Besides, he can make it up by getting into Syugakukan. I believe in him.

The anime soundtrack makes it even more amazing, I loved it, and it really takes back from the cringe times when Kyotaro was really hard to read without you trying to cover your face with so much cringe.
I've been listening to the openings and endings of both seasons while reading this. There's times when the second opening comes on and I can't help bug rock out.
