@PatateAuMiel They probably just forced her to dance until she couldn't even take a step anymore. Even if she did that stunt, they can't just kill a nobleman's daughter right in the middle of a party.

@SilentStorm THANK YOU for clarifying things! Tbh some of those answer had this 'holier-than-thou' feelings, when most comments here were actually praising the talk down between the two (or three, perhaps?) girls, while other did really point out how unsettling and creepy the nobles felt.

Scarlet Castiel, where the hell has she been among all the isekai and otome villanesses? She played that crowd like a fiddle. 😍

How about not posting spoilers without a spoiler tag to hide them in the comments? Speculations are obviously okay...

Thoughts so far:
-Neil is dumbass
-Pamela is a cunt
-Wayne should have an arc
-Don't trust mysterious ghosts at dinner parties!

Well that was exciting

You're right, there's no justice, but revenge is certainly more satisfying than justice.

I've read a good number of mangas with villainess denouncement scenes like this but I have to say this is my favourite. It's the only one that me go " Awesome! " . No wonder Scarlet Castiel is called the villainess of the era.

@SilentStorm @Erythea

To clarify, I have no problem with the way Pamela was treated. When I wrote my initial comment I was under the assumption Pamela was tortured to death by the nobles. By now several people who have read the WN confirmed that Pamela is still among the living. I also agree that Pamela had it coming, since she was willing to sacrifice Constance out of sheer spite and jealousy. So yes, the way Pamela was portrayed gave very little to be sympathetic about.

However, what I do have a problem with and my original point, is the behavior of the nobles. How the crowd just stands, watches and immediately judges whatever person is thrown out into the open to be ostracized by them. We see how after Scarlet-possessed Constance has turned the tables suddenly some major figures from the noble crowd confront a defeated Pamela to tell her she shouldn't have done that to Constance. Where were these people when Constance needed them?
Then the nobles take justice in their own hands by torturing Pamela. The girl's social standing has already been obliterated, which is a death sentence for a noble girl, but that doesn't seem to be enough for a crowd that now seems to be out for blood. Something they reaffirm when they notice how much they enjoyed putting Scarlet to (actual) death 10 years ago.
If you'd allow me to play devil's advocate, Pamela seems honestly surprised and horrified, by what the nobles are planning to do with her (the torture). Thinking to herself that this is nothing like the night parties she's attended in the past. So to be fair, she never knew this is what she would have put Constance through if things had worked out in her favor.

I disagreed with others on the statement that this was justice, because this cannot be just, because the ones who pass judgement are a group of nobles that seem to revel in the despair of any prey thrown in front of them, be they innocent or guilty.
I apologize if it seemed like I called out others for not sympathizing with Pamela, that was not the intent of my original post. I do hope I clarified my point of view with this reply.

Wow, that's a lot of text. XD

@Simkin Thank you for your response! And yes, on regards to the nobles' behavior I have no qualms in agreeing with everything you said. Someone could make a case of Constace being forced to undergo the same punishment, however the same logic applied to this scenario can easily act as a counterpoint - why wouldn't she? Like you pointed out, even more close relationships such as Madame Holland with Pamela were quickly disregarded in favor of the spectacle that was made out of the punishment, so what would protect Constance if it was her instead? A couple of noble ladies who simply "enjoy her company"? I think not.

Giving some spoilers regarding the future relationship between Scarlet and Constance, allied with their future objective, perhaps this chapter was indeed meant to estabilish the untrustworthiness of the nobles in this society.

A great analysis nonetheless!
