Damn! I wonder why this scene is more epic in a black and white manga than in the anime...

Ah yes, a blood kiss to save the vampire. A classic excuse for justifying make out sessions in the middle of a dramatic scene. Just some good ol' Mana Transfer.

Al is a piece of shit.
It didn't have to come to this.
Sit down and have a talk.
Not really, it just shows how much thought he actually put this through before putting it in motion. By killing (which became a mere attempt) one of his subjects and trying to kill the princess, he and his followers will be subjected to the highest punishment. He intentionally gathered all the corrupt nobles in his banner to have them dealt with in one fell swoop.

Still, you're right with it being too reckless and self-abandonment. That's just how much he loves his sister and how much he hates the world for ridiculing her.

Alright, again that short ass flashback still doesn't make me understand how and why should I sympathize with this character, like he said the throne was more akin to making a puppet but then hes mad about his sister giving it up. "His sister giving up the throne" == "Giving up magicology research to save people" ???? Last chapter all she said was she doesnt want the throne when all he was looking for from her was how she is the "light" of the future and the rumors of her trying to kill him for the throne is nullified and shouldnt affect him. Where are theyre parents, cause I thought they were living fine??? So give me a fuckin reason to sympathize with a character who doesnt even show up 99% of the story and is just a tool to make drama and fight at the end of the story cause fuck the yuri, it isnt about it anymore all I saw was how dedicated the mc is in researching magicology so what and where was this prince looking at.
You got your head in the sand, he spelled it out. She has the Strength to be a great King for this country, if she had wanted to she could have squashed all those rumors, and when she ascended the throne, she would have put all those nobles badmouthing her in their place, but by running away she made everything worse. Her handing him the throne basically emboldened the nobles, leaving him with no hope of being anything but a puppet on the throne, especially with Euphyllia at his side, as she's the poster girl for the nobles and the major religion.

The corrupt noble would have kill her as soon as they heard she was crowned King, and if they failed to kill her, they would incite a noble uprising that would devastated the kingdom which might be worse than before.

Committing a terrorist act -- to try to "solve" a problem, by attempting to invoke retaliation -- is an idiotic idea.

Prince should be drawn and quartered for high treason, murder attempt on royal, murder attempt on noble.

But nope. "It's so complicated? He had a good reason?" Fans of Al's melodrama need to step back and look at it objectively.

Pretty much what I thought. If he tried to reveal their plots before they happen, they'd be able to cover it up/pin it on him. It's like he said, he'd be a puppet king, unable to do anything against the wishes of the puppet masters. His best option was to go along with it and do it badly, having the real culprits reveal themselves along the way. In the worst case scenario where he "succeeds", he'd be a vampire and the nobles wouldn't be a problem any longer.

I won't pretend that his plan is sane, but it did have a good amount of thought put into it considering he's still an angst ridden teenager.

"Objectively" lol. Lmao even.

There's a legal concept called "clemency". It basically just means that some individual or group in a legal process has the authority to grant mercy on a subjective basis. It's pretty widely practiced.

He doesn't intend to get out of this alive, one way or another.
I take issue with condoning this sort of behavior, even in fiction.
Because that's exactly along those lines crazies like Buffalo/Chirstchurch you-know-what did and argued for.
Suicidal self-destructive "Code Geass" Xanatos Gambits are chuuni, and lose luster the moment life imitates art.

I prefer my fiction to at least be grounded in reality. No "nakamah powah" moments.

But that's personal taste in worldbuilding. Author constraining their own actions and characters.
Without that, it's equally as likely a Mary Sue magical tool wand is waved and in-universe world peace is achieved.
And such endings/resolutions are equally upsetting to readers for obvious reasons.

In this case -- even if the prince succeeds -- he completely hobbles and chops the leg off royal authority for generations.
Ruining any prospects for his sister to be taken seriously as a ruler. Viewed instead as figurehead survivor of blood-stained legacy.

(Attempted) Coups don't catapult governments into success.
They weaken them and make them easy prey to corruption and outside influence.

Was it just me or was the sketches a little off?? The drawings seemed less sharp and Algard’s and Anis’s face was drawn goofily( a bit). I felt the character sketches were a bit off this chapter..
