Slightly oddly phrased, but this we can agree on. As a princess and a royal/noble, Anis is terribly incompetent. However, I would make the point that she's an extremely competent adventurer and inventor.

What, exactly, was Al good at? His poorly thought out rebellion has failed (to say nothing of the fact of the stupidity of fomenting a rebellion against your own kingdom when you are going to be in charge of it if you just wait) we hear nothing of his abilities as a warrior or monster hunter, and his faction seems to be comprised of a very small number of people, so he's not great at political maneuvering and gathering allies.

This is why I said he would be better off if he ran away. He's way out of his depth in all categories except wanting to clutch his sister's skirts.

It's true Anis is a great adventurer and inventor, the things she developed will be helpful, but deciding to be someone of an outcast will be problematic in actually spreading the inventions as her work is somewhat heretical in established system. It's just not trustworthy.

Here's a thing, Anis by acting carefree during the subjugation was aware he was going for the same goal and might be after the same goal, to prove his worth, but stole his thunder. Al being a heir to the throne cannot be an adventurer and actively show his powers or gain respect.
Only thing Al could do is to act as a proper prince, all under strict eye of nobility.

His allies were the school buddies, each established a prominent role in the government.

Running away will leave the throne empty and under normal circumstances, leave the throne under nobility rule. While they act from the shadows through puppeteering, they would now have free reign, think we had that in history when royalty was overthrown.

Eh? Hope I got it right but, Al isn't romantically interested in neither of Anis harem members, one was an arranged marriage (* shivers *, knowing as a real world fact it's horrible thing) and another a way to ebolish the flawed system.

Everyone calling him out for this plan doesn't necessarily seem to realize that the prince himself agrees with all of you. This is literally his "I can't come up with anything better than this. I wasn't even supposed to be in this position" complaint to his sister.

He's not even good at that. Dude's not even competent at getting bailed out by his sister. He's the kind of NPC in a game people hate because they can't even keep themselves alive long enough for you to solo the encounter.

Exactly, that is the idea behind his behavior, but his execution falls too short, his actions are way too extreme, he didn't even try other stuff, because in his mind it would fail, but, if he considers himself average and without talent; What thought process lead him to believe this was the only way?


I mean, an idiot is saying he's an idiot, but also arguing, this is the only way, because any other would fail. You are either a genius that saw no other way, or an idiot that would look for ways to solve the problem, you can't be both.
