So...the prince is directly responsible for instigating a coup, attempting to murder two people and his sister, gods know how many poor soldiers loyal on either side were slaughtered while the coup was taking place, because they followed orders.
And all he gets is a retirement in a private resort with all the comforts of a royal member (because THAT is what it is going to be and you bloody well know it) instead of being executed next to the rest of the traitors?
And that's supposed to be a good resolution?
That's one the worst resolutions I've ever read. How are the nobles supposed to react when the main culprit gets a slap on the wrist and a permanent vacation in a Royal summer residence as a punishment, whilst all their peers who took the prince's side were punished with death?
If I were a noble my faith to the crown would have been all but obliterated, first a "heathen" princess who was left alone in her devices and now a rebel vampire prince allowed to live ? Royal bloodlines have fallen for much less in the real world.
And then we have Laine , you are telling me that she had the magicite in her HEART cut out and now everything is ok? no side effects for a gaping hole in the heart?
Sometimes Japanese authors overdo it with the "and everyone lived happily ever after" trope, Karasu literally ruined all this story arc just so nobody (that we know by name) would not die...
ok enough ranting...I used to like this manga but after this shitfest? I don't really think I want to see what's coming next, since it is painfully obvious that this lazy trope of everyone being the poor victim that only needed a hug and that we should pity instead of dislike will continue.
