Einar is... done :fml:
I really don't know where the story is gonna go
Most people who believed in Thorfinn's idea of peace will no longer try to negotiate after everything happened
And even Einar, the man who stood right beside Thorfinn when his iconic "I have no enemies" happened, is just done :fml:🚬

The bloody battles and the death of your allies during them are clearly not very contributing to the advance of the power of friendship and pacifism as a whole. But I appreciate how the author show that the peace needs to be achieved by willpower and diplomacy, instead of just reading a lecture on the power of friendship and brainwash opponents with it.

I think Styrk is more at risk of doing something rash during negotiations than Einar is. Styrk almost certainly holds Ga'aoqi as being primarily responsible for Ivar's death (even if he didn't personally kill Ivar, Ga'aoqi cutting off Ivar's hand and taking his sword basically locked Ivar into dying the way he did).

At this point, Thorfinn probably feels like that one kid who is excited to do a research project, only to find that his entire group is lazy and he has to do all of the work.

It is noble to strive for a world without violence, without slavery, without pain. But unfortunately, we cannot seem to commit to that. Our society is stunted - we teach our children the wrong lessons, which they then grow up teaching to their children. We reward people who gain power by force, believe their lies because it’s better than admitting that maybe we made a wrong decision.

Our society is like a broken leg not set properly, causing it to grow crooked. And if we work to fix this, how would we do so? Would we need to break it again to fix it, doing the same amount of violence we tried to prevent? If we travel to a new land, are we not bringing our sins with us?

It is a question that, more than a thousand years after, we have no good answer.

now im not saying styrk and ga'aoqi should just kill each other, and let that be the end of the war, but i wouldnt be upset in the slightest at that outcome.
Would be pretty poetic that way, like Thorfinn mentioned some people just go out of their way to seek out violence and those two are some pretty good examples. Have the series end by having two assholes take each other out.
