And oh okay, NTR is actually socially acceptable in this universe if you do it between 9-5 at night on a Saturday, while wearing bunny slippers or some shit.

To most westners here that are weirded out, Yobai is a thing that was more or less culturelly accepted in ancient Japan as weird as it sounds.
It was quite a weird accepted culture that resulted in many marriages and such.

This of course faded out but when I saw this in the Web Novel I was "wtf" than I started reading about this, If you ask me, totally explains that weirdest trend in anime that I never understood where it came from, that if a guy and a girl sleeps in the same room, SOMETHING SHOULD happen... pretty sure this kind ot culture was the origin.

Funny enough there was similar kind of culture in anxient Europe too..... mostly for dominated places towards the owner of the region but still XD.

Anyway it is just an interesting pieces of culture I never knew about Japan.... but yeah I wish it wasnt on the story, from here on gets a bit weird XD

Interesting this explain a lot. It was a very common manga/anime trope in the past, and even i was kinda weirded out by it. Men would literally try to rape women in their sleep, and this was supposed to be a comedy moment?
This yobai thing clarify a lot of this strange trope.

From what i've seen from manga is supposed to be more aggressive than that. Basically borderline rape.
The worst offender in my memory about this trope is "city hunter" Ryo would try to "yobai" every girl under his care. And the only thing stopping him was his partner Kaori always cartoonishly hammering him with a super heavy hammer. And he was not really looking like he was going to ask "can i please".
Despite me being totally ok even with aggressive sexual behaviour i couldn't help myself wondering how the girl could be ok with it, waking up and suddenly discovering some dude is fucking her.

Even if everything is okay as long as two people consents, that still leaves so many oddities and implications.

Such as how do you sneak into another person's room? I'm guessing this is during the hut ages and no doors. And regarding the implications, I will just supppse all Japanese men are honorable and would leave blue balled if the lady is deep asleep or somehow not angry at him for waking her and says no.

There’s no way in hell it was a total surprise even most of the time, I mean how else would the target of the intruding party’s affection be picked unless they had already met prior?
It seems to have been more like a previously arranged midnight rendezvous rather than a “hi random woman I don’t know, I just broke into your house, would you like to sleep with me? No? Okay I’ll move on to the next house. “
Considering these are the times where you’ll get promptly stoned to death for actions like breaking and entering or rape, as a man you’d definitely want be certain that you’re not going to be decapitated by the local Samurai for forcibly trying to woo his daughter or something.
