Story seems to have it's ups and downs, still pretty enjoyable to read atleast, for me anyway. I do agree though, pretty quick resolution for the given situation.

Spoilers for the future, Ignis is crafty. He's also an excellent judge of character. Later you'll even find out that he didn't even need to cast the curse just because of who the Demon King is.

in all honesty Ignis's reaction to the magic stone thing was interesting. The fact he is actually a side character with depth to him is even more interesting.

What the! Did he just use Talk no Jutsu on a Demon King's (probably the powerful, maybe a general) follower? Wow!

Also, I still suspect that the king is totally lying about the magic stone thing. Or maybe not, because there is a possibility of the high power of the Demon King's magic stone that can be used for dimensional travel. But even if that is maybe true, the king is probably just hoarding all of its power instead of fulfilling his promise.

Edit: It seems he is not the Demon King, but one of the follower. Thank you, @tsuylen for pointing it out.¹
