I've decided to start The More You Know comment page to explain some of author-san's writing choices that has to do with established lore that we forgot over the year (Seriously, C29 was released 5 years ago). Hope you guys enjoy it. Agsilver has also updated the town / region names based on feedback in C77's comments, praise to be Ag!

EDIT: This is C78, I mistakenly typed it as 79. Sorry for the trouble folks

It's strange to me how MC instantly recognized what the smell reminded him off. That's certainly not a skill I have myself.
Honestly think the author pegged it rather well. If you have spent any time around fireworks or blackpowder weapons you would be familiar with it's distinctive odor. The smell will also persist thrue a light washing. So it wouldn't surprise me at all that the MC would notice someone who had recently fired a black powder weapon in the last day or two.

Honestly even without remembering the lore based on how the Captain was acting and so insistent on being Captain onboard the ship and not Princess I wouldn't have thought they would have had any relationship growth anyways.

Also of the Asian cultures I've experienced they use fireworks more often and they are often ground based ones, not ones that shoot into the sky, so you can really smell the gunpowder and how unique it is and how long it lingers. Aerial fireworks are often reserved for public shows and not often done at home. Again, this is personal experience though so it is somewhat limited.

I'm more surprised he didn't bring any documentation of gunpowder (or industrial production methods like lathes/precision measuring tools) from our world when he got summoned the second time.
He probably doesn't know how to make it. And even if he did... Do you really wanna bring gunpowder of all things to another world?
