I was going to mention that same thing, but in the end it changes nothing. The past, non-isekai incarnation controlled Slow behaved in a manner that ruined Charlotte's image of him, yes, but regardless of having a good reason for it, she still looks down on him. Now that he's trying to do good things, she never believes in him, thinking he's just planning something wicked. If he seems to have gained a friend, she thinks he's either delusional or is bullying people to appear friendly. Will it take another 10 years to make her realised he's a changed man? Except that he doesn't have those 10 years since she's going to be snatched away by the dude who was the hero in the game. In my opinion losing her would be just fine. I don't see why Slow would need to suffer years of humiliating work to convince her he's not a scumbag anymore. He wasn't the one who ruined her personality, it was the original Slow of the story he had no part in, so it would be unfair if he needed to fix all that shit, in addition to needing to fix his image and reputation in everybody else's minds as well, and fix his own body as well. He needs a girl who will support him, not a hateful airhead who keeps kicking him in the head.
