Their family has been financially struggling for a long time until he was finally able to level up his skill. Now that he's bringing in the money, she can start saving up in case of emergencies.

There's also the issue of the payout from the guild. It's going to take some time for all the paperwork to get sorted out and with their house getting damaged in the attack, they need cash as soon as possible.
