There’s a lot to Himari when you do more than just take things at face value. I feel the translation does a good job at capturing it but a lot of folks I think miss it anyway.

I'll admit that the first part of this chapter frustrated me. He didn't do anything to warrant apologizing except for breaking the necklace. The fact that she managed to make him think so was already aggravating.

Then, I found the chapter outright infuriating when it revealed that she wasn't that invested in any of this. Even if it is her lying to herself, the acknowledgement and giddiness to be manipulating her friend is disgusting.

Being so gleefully over-the-top proud of herself when she's being a complete turd really does round out the complexity of her immaturity. Love her, and love her and Yuu's three-legged-race to the bottom.
