This manga is making me feel real complicated emotions and subsequently making me do some introspection on my own opinions on relationships as a whole.

Welp, the mother, no matter how stupid (bubbly is the word now, it seems) she may seem, actually cares about her daughter ONLY!

And she knows that a young girl in puberty needs a reliable masculine figure in her life, to guide her into transitioning from a child, unto a well rounded adult.
She doesn't want to see her believe that bad-boys, and hot-guys are good relationship partners.
And later then, end up preggo at 16, then losing opportunities because of the curse that all underage-mothers go to.
But find someone who has traits of being a father...

Because if the daughter admires the father, the daughter will fall in love with the father's character, and traits, etc.
But later on, the daughter will learn how to control her female urges (because puberty is a bitch), and understand that her hormones were attracted to someone who showed fatherly traits. And will proceed to search for someone her age, with those potentials.

Ergo, the reason the mother wants to leech off the MC (I strongly believe this).

Since her "husband" couldn't fit the bill, she can only rely on MC, for now.

Until she finds something better? Or until she "stumble" into the MC's art room... =_=)'

It definitely dredges up some issues/emotions in people, but it's also WEIRD beyond the misogyny. The MC is just like, going way too far for effectively a stranger. If it was just them living next door, it would be totally chill. The whole issue of being his ex isn't particularly important, it's more so the extreme levels of cuckold feeling this imposes (which Japanese men are REALLY into) because the MC has like, literally no feelings at all towards the situation that he should have.

Yeah this is how I'm feelin. I'm not gonna hurl things that might seem insulting, but I think most of the comments are just reacting way too strongly. I'm not in the MC's shoes by any means, but I can understand wanting to help someone that you once had feelings for and ostensibly made some good memories with.

I really don't care if people call me a cuck for this or whatever, but the MC being generous and helping his ex is just a person being nice towards someone they once had feelings for. If she's taking advantage of him in some way unknown to him, or was lying or being scummy or whatever else, that's on her, not on him. Speaking of her, we really don't know any of the circumstances yet, so I really don't get why people are coming up with self-serving fantasies for the purposes of insult and purely to express disgust. But oh well, I'm interested in seeing where this goes.

It's plainly stupid to defend this manga unless the story can somehow justify whatever the fuck she did. As for now, you're really gonna let in a parasite that left you and had another man's child?

Here's the catch, it may seem wholesome, but that's the one sided perspective of this manga. Even to a man and woman having an affair, it will be romantic and wholesome in their eyes. You can watch a nice and cute couple in the train carriage sitting across from you, but you don't know that the other may actually have another partner that he/she is cheating on. You could see a very helpful and kind man, but on his own side that you don't see, he has murdered a few people.

There's many irl scenarios that you can use as an analogy for these type of stories. All hidden under the pretense that "it's actually a wholesome story so far." Is the law going to say, "this man has been a wholesome member of society for the recent years, so his murder of some people a decade ago shall be forgiven"?

Idk whom are dissing whom in this comment section, all I know is that the ones not defending it, definitely are not incels and more of a sensible member of society. Maybe learn the real meaning of the word, or maybe the defenders are the ones actually closer to being incels if they're easily tricked by a "wholsome story" glossing over the elephant in the room. That just show how much you're desperate for a woman.
