I doubt it will happen in the same way. Basically in light novel, all the slice of life stuff you saw between them, kumo getting drunk and all, the party visiting a town, plus some more ,took place after the phenomenon happened. I assume that the light novel is different from web novel.

This part is very different in the LN compared to WN.

After kumoko eats it and becomes a God in the LN, she loses control of her powers so she’s basically the same as a normal human without a system. In the WN she actually keeps her abilities, which makes some things very different

Yeah I don't know how LN/WNs work compared to Manga in the industry, but this seems like a desperate story move to get back readership, that was lost at some point, and prevent the feared axe.

It's not even the story itself that runs straight into trash territory, but the pacing is just absolute ass.

Why do I feel whiplash from a half chapter per month release?!
