Yeah I don't know how LN/WNs work compared to Manga in the industry, but this seems like a desperate story move to get back readership, that was lost at some point, and prevent the feared axe.

It's not even the story itself that runs straight into trash territory, but the pacing is just absolute ass.

in the Light Novel (and Web Novel, but the UFO stuff doesn't exist), we know where the story is going thanks to the Flashforwards. And thanks to them, we also know a thing that is barely shown in the manga

Arachne is not her final evolution.

Based on that, we can bear the burden of less interesting story arc, knowing that at some point the story will reach the interesting part.

Like I said, I'm not totally disliking what is happening, instead more the way it's paced and presented.

The manga showed and since it was completely out of place, many people forgot about it (after having hated it because it was out of place).

you know i thought potimas was doomsday trying to end the world but this chapter really did a great job at putting into perspective the fact that potimas and ariel have greatly different beliefs and they just clash because of it, the overlooking arc would be with these reincarnations and more specifically it seems D, the UFO and the asteroid both are doomsday scenarios which if you know stories would only do that once, so super glad this story isn’t going a doomsday route because to be honest…it’s kinda common. a plotline that explores this way is happily appreciated.
