He would have been putting himself at risk. Now the teleport magic he just learned would have allowed him to get around being banned from leaving but to do so would be burning the bridge his parents were on the other side of. It would be dumb to take such a risk when there were humans approaching. If he had just left her alone in the forest without help on the way i'd have a different opinion.

This dumb lack of self-will "I'll just obey and do as I'm told" when it was obvious that he didn't need to wait until he was a century old was... very disappointing and lackluster.

And upon getting outside into the world and seeing humans again... He just fucks right off back to the Elf Shire where the elves living in a boring-as-fuck paradise.

He didn't even so much as question the elder elf, "Hey, I'm obviously more capable than you thought, how about I leave now?". Nope. Just... continue spending more time in the village. Because reasons.

And you meet a slave girl that wants to learn magic? Well, fuck that, you need to go back to the elf village to read for another decade when you're already likely the most powerful elf. I mean, gee, it's not like she wouldn't go back to being homeless, hungry and just kidnapped or enslaved again.

Good premise, but very generic and the MC went waaaaaaay too fucking native and drank the elf Kool-Aid. Which is probably some sacred tree sap or some shit, you know how those knife ears are.

Nice of him to be conscious of that, other fantasy series basically avoided different lifespans problem like a plague, the only other series who actually played into that racial difference that I can remember are The New Gate in which the Mc returned finding some of his shorter living companions are at the end of their lifespans, and he ended up not being able to do anything about that, choosing to give his friend a farewell they deserves.

Yey another elf isekai like Enough With This Slow Life! I adore long lifespan stories since that'd be the dream for me.. Immortal Pound Rescue long lifespan.. I could eat, read, paint, draw, and take pictures forever..
The pace is weird and breakneck but I like it so much. I can't wait to see what happens, I'm glad he didn't take the girl back, no way the other elves would've accepted her and people were already on their way to save her. Plus he kept her in his heart and promised to help her if they crossed paths again and she remained unwavering.
I hope the test doesn't last too long I want him to see his friend (who was weirdly introduced but whatever.)
