unless there wasn't another way to say it besides 'variety', a teenager (while not impossible to know that word) saying "repertoire" does come off as maybe pretentious versus "oh he actually was a smart kid/educated despite the targeting/being a victim"

I guess being a 'hacker' is a fairly safe way to help/support than using physical strength unless he somehow messes up/makes a mistake that lets Okaya track down maria's house location or so (tho unless she also lied on her paperwork or so i'm sure he could pull the strings or so to get maria's personnel file from the school)

That's Reiji from Ch 14, another investigator in Taiichirou's field. The guy gives off the vibe of a massive snake. I wouldn't be surprised if he's preparing to throw Tai under the bus or attempt to pin him as the real killer.

lol this looks recognizable but without it, the way the 'pants' were drawn at the end of this chapter made me think it would've been a woman wearing a long skirt (tho i guess even for some cops/office lady sometimes they wear short pencil skirts)

Kek. Education comes first, even when becoming an accessory for revenge.

I'm pretty sure it's a fake mission simply to keep him distracted. I think she just needs to keep him busy so he doesn't get in her way. I keep seeing she sees him as a dangerous emotionally-volitile hindrance to her goals; yet she still has some real motherly humanity that prevents her from just killing him.

Not to nitpick, but "The one who will shoulder the sins should only fall on me..." makes no sense gramatically (even if I know where it's actually going)
Other than that thanks for the translation

I'm not saying the mom's gonna fuck her son's friend, but the author's definitely setting up a dynamic by making them mutually aware of each other. Though in Maria's case, it's a little tempered in that she only sees her husband in him.

As an engineer, taking a CCNA course out of pure conviction and not for work or money reasons is laughable, and I agree with the rest, good luck with that shit, it never even crosses my mind to take those types of courses, they're complex and frustrating to do it.

Maria knows she's gonnga die, and that explains why she doesn't involve her husband, it makes sense.

I hope that kid actually takes more than a year. Gonna be lame if its going to be revealed that he's talented at hacking. Revenge stories like this one shouldn't last this long, if you ask me.
i think that'd be the case

Yuda fantasizing over Maria would've been a little funnier if it weren't for the fact that this isn't really a comedy manga, so the gag felt out place for me. But how funny would it be if Maria completes her revenge including finishing off Okaya by the time Yuda is done getting all of his certifications? But yeah, this ain't a comedy, so...

On a more serious note, considering all the reference material available, maybe Maria really was going to work on learning all of that stuff herself, until someone who can possibly do the job for her appeared. This frees her up for other things, at the risk of her new servant failing to do the one job she set up for him to do. Then again, if her need for a hacker was low anyway, then this was a calculated risk and as she says, just a way to distract him from inadvertently sabotaging her plans any further.

So she still does at least have a tiny bit of feelings left for her husband. But mostly about how he'll be the one to protect her son's memory. My first thought upon seeing his visitor was Okaya, but apparently it's someone else according to comments here. It reminded me that for maximum dramatic irony, what about the possibility that Taiichirou somehow ends up helping or even siding with Okaya, given that he's still in the dark about the truth of his son's death? Pitting ex-wife against ex-husband wouldn't be unthinkable in a manga like this.

Mari pushed him away to protect him (as their family's designated survivor, in her head) while committing herself to the sole purpose of revenge with the possibility of no return, but this could end up backfiring on her.

Well at least it confirms she still deeply cares for her husband
I like that honestly, wishing she’d had him by her side to do everything and even swearing herself to guarding his grave if he ever died
Really wish the story would get something on the innocent side for once and go more in depth with the two since it’s pretty clear they both miss each other
