afaik, there isn't any. Dogs in every mythology portrays them as either guardian spirits, really dangerous monsters or cute doggos. Or all of the above.Do the Japanese mythology nerds know anything about six-legged dogs? Is there some cultural context missing here, or is it just a random monster? It feels very different from the normal monsters portrayed in this series.
Honestly, you did a good enough job that if you also re-did chapter 62 it'd probably turn out better. This is my very first time translating anything really and I mainly did this since I was in the mood for it. I roughly translate the chapters for myself when they release, so I just figured I'd share them
Haha, thank you! I was considering it, but it'd probably come off as rude and I have a lot of exams coming up in the next few months, so I don't really have a lot of time.Honestly, you did a good enough job that if you also re-did chapter 62 it's probably turn out better,
There are the Inugami, but I've never heard of them being described as six-legged. Also they were supposed to be pretty dangerous to have around, even their owners had to step on eggshells not to offend one, because they were vengence spirits and they didn't discriminate whom to take revenge on.Do the Japanese mythology nerds know anything about six-legged dogs? Since Miko sees things no one else does, in great detail (as opposed to the other girl just making out something blurry), it can probably be assumed that what she sees is the true nature of things. Thus this would be an unrelated entity. Rather than helping her, it seems to be more keen on foiling the shopkeeper. Whether that's because of the cheating, the owner's dislike of dogs due to allergy, or just a whim, who can say?So I wonder if the cat turned into the six legged dog somehow or if that was a completely different spirit. And why was it helping Miko in that sense? Even more confusing is that I'm not sure if it was actually giving hostile vibes to Miko at the end there. I know the mangaka tends to do "that style" of art when things becoming spooky, but it could also be totally innocuous. And the biggest twist is that the shop owner is super hot. Competitor for Michiru for Miko's heart perhaps? Need me some more MichiMiko soon.
Romm's mom I bet.Does anyone think the the lady might be related to Romm?
Anyone who thinks scanlators care about "pushing some agenda" is just a snowflake crybaby, who will whine at the mere mention of anything he doesn't like. It's little wonder he'd be such a "lovely" person to be around in general, but that's part of the package and therefore worth pointing out. Especially since you've been too generous to imply that he's articulate enough to put it this way. If hev were, he wouldn't use meaningless terms.Eh...
That's it, that's the entire "complaint" about wokeness.
Frankly, Emile was kind of an ass in general in how they addressed people's complaints. The usual stuff: "don't read it if you don't like it", "if you don't like it do it yourself" and so on.
So focusing on them saying "besides, at least I don't change things around to push some agenda" of all things, as if that's somehow their biggest fault here? That's just plain silly.
We actually saw Romm's mom in Chapter 38! It was only in one or two panels, but still, she's very much implied to be dead.Romm's mom I bet.
