It's deviated from the web novel... because it's following the serialised novel instead.
Thank you for explaining. Having read the WN, I thought they were just taking liberties with the source material - for obvious publishing reasons.

Haven't read it since the official release is behind the manga 🤷 I have read the entirety of the translated WN though.

It's broadly the same for at least the first few volumes but there are definite changes. Haven't read the non-translated ones myself though.

Whether you like them big or small, this manga got them for you.:korone:

Then we learn a hot waifu sold them out and Kazuya's boss working together. Their society feels like it's being run by hot oneesans. :smugchisato:

Who was driving?
That's something that I wondered as well. I guess they have some auto-pilot of some sort like those fancy cars.

If it was me I would have rigged the ruins with the largest bomb I could get. As soon as a bunch of hunters get there and trigger the bomb, the survivors would immediately turn and hunt down the info broker for leading them into a trap.

That would probably have the opposite effect: if somebody took such measures on a unknown ruin, it means that what's inside is valuable enough to risk making such "noise". It would be better to map the ruin ASAP, strip bare the ruins closest to all but the most unassuming of the entrances and discreetly hide with rubble and/or wrecks the true extent of the ruins.

But that's not the question: How did that woman learn of the ruins? Why is she targeting Akira's ruins? And why are intentionally involved the only two known users of Assist AIs in the scheme?
