Thank you for the TL!

Damn, i can't believe this manga is finished. Its funny, I remember when this manga first started get translated, it was around the same time as sensitive boy getting translated, another manga that deals with very heavy topics, I remember feeling so much pain for these characters and hoping these characters get help/peace. I had put a score of 8-9/10 for both of them, and even though now im able to read them with a more idk focused mindset (idk how to describe it, like not as emotionally nervous cus of the heavy themes they present) I can see the flaws and issues with this manga more blantantly, which it does have a good amount. IK if I gave a score just purely out of logic and just from my mind, it'd be much lower, but with this, i think cus of the impact on my heart and how strong the emotional ressosance I had with this, I'm not gonna change the score. Ik a lot of people will disagree with me, and maybe I will if I ever decide to reread this several years later, but this feels like a heart over mind moment for me. This did a strong impression on me.

Edit:- Now that I am over the ending, lemme write a proper review (the ending pissed me off)
Btw rating is 7 after I re-read everything

Things I liked:-
  1. Opening - Imagine getting an opening where the first panel is murder and the fifth panel is suicidal tendency, that's attractive (as a reader, not irl)
  2. Art - It was… pleasant, like seeing cute characters in the gloomy setting is refreshing
  3. Survivor's Guilt - (Search Google for definition) writer nailed this part, seeing MC questioning his right to live, as his sister is dead is realistic (also he blamed himself for her death as he wasn't there to pick her up)
  4. Plot twists - The best thing (at least at the beginning and the middle), Shiika's planned encounter, bullying, fembro's introduction (forgot his name), shiika's involvement though it fails to properly execute in later halves (felt rushed)
Btw this manga reminded me of tensegrity structure, every string in high tension, but others holding each other in stability

Things I didn't like:-
  1. Trauma cycle - Though the ending broke the cycle
    JNldTFm.png
  2. False hype - It really pisses me off when stuff like this happens, one example will be bro and sis running away, big deal right? They come back next chapter, another will be Shiika's involvement to the main case, like I suppose the 2nd half was fully based on it, then they said, "I was abused, and I was forced to not say anything." Like yeah, that's was predictable, but it was way too much stretched.
  3. Sumire's character - WHO IS SHE? HOW DOES SHE KNOW SO MANY THINGS?
  4. Plot device - Fembro was a plot device… why was he there, just to pass on the mobile? Like I actually expected many things from him.
  5. Rushed execution - As I told above, it suffers from long-term execution
  6. Plot hole - Sumire told us that Shiika was there, based on the voice rec, so she was involved and hence bad… Wasn't the same voice rec had these lines by Yuri "Don't worry, I will protect you, I won't tell anyone because Shiika is my little sister." She didn't hear this, cause this changes the fact that she was 'involved' (Why will Yuri show sympathy to her if she was involved?"
One thing that is bugging me, is the extremities of the society. I found this:-

Here it's clearly written that the murder motive was "r word of his sister"
Then why is the society like "yeah a filthy murderer" instead of "justice system failed us, at least this guy took the justice for her sister", like, I either don't know jap society, or this is BS

Umm… took me some time to write this, this review may be biased, because of the character troupes (personal reason) sorry for that. But yeah, thanks for reading ig, here is a gift "She doesn't know why she lives." amazing manga, with the same feel as this one, though a lot lighter.
Also correct me if I am wrong anywhere, bye.

Oh btw… I decided to search mangaka's name in nhentai (due to those panels) and found out some schoolgirl stuff (do whatever with that knowledge)

(This was the msg before edit:-
Guys, a reminder, trauma dumping is not good writing, I was getting annoyed at the end of how many times they were just repeating the same thing. And the femboy brother was just a plot device bru.
6.5/10)

What was the point of running away? Feels like a waste of the little pages left, which could have been spent on healing.

The nose dive in quality is palpable. The brother seems pointless, I don't think the voice recording was necessary and could have been done another way that wasn't so crass, and the last chapter could've used more pages.

Overall glad it ended, but damn what a waste of emotional investment.

It was kind of a heavy ride this 16 chapters.
I hope it developed even more, but I can also say, such abrupt resolutions also happen in real life, however mundane things end up.
Pretty sure this got chopped off by the editors and publishers either because of issues with the mangaka, or because of how seriously heavy the premise is, so they probably decided to swiftly put a resolution to it, because it might lose people's interest or the story might go unnecessarily complex. Heh, but honestly, just looking at how things ended, it really looked like a swift axe was done.

Nonetheless, the Momoyama Hato did a great job in expressing the emotion and pressure of the story. I always held my breath reading each chapter up until this last one.

Not terrible, just feels incomplete. Not having any real consequences for anyone like the brother or the girl who bullied Shiika at the orphanage takes away pretty much all their significance in the story. I'm going to pretend everyone immediately went into therapy after the last chapter and before the epilogue and that's why everyone magically got an ambiguously good(ish?) ending.

This ending seems rushed, probably was axed. BUT, i'm fine because "Saihate ni Madou" is the first serialization from mangaka (lets forget the pixiv loli posts etc)

Even seems rushed, I liked because I feared with a bad ending, and I still impressed from the art and theme (Like as My Broken Mariko)

And about art, this is so beautiful, Shiika finally found peace

I'm glad there was no unnecessary drama added. It was straightforward and on the point about two people trying to overcome their guilt. 7/10
