My boring guess is she was also spirited away or knows someone who was, and did some basic research around the girl she was hiring, since there would be online newspaper archives that mentioned Aya's disappearance. So what kind of superhuman powers of perception does Kumuguya even have lol
A lot of us have trouble picking up on even blatant hints that someone's attracted to us while here she is able to sniff out someone having been spirited away? I understand she apparently knows someone it happened to and Aya's a bit suspicious, but that still takes a very keen eye...or some additional information she gathered from somewhere.
Japan does tend to have some casual belief about shrines and such even if they don't go outta their way to become monks/shrine maidens (and the "haunted"/stigmatized ghost apartments being 'cheaper' or so), but I just always assume the "new year shrine visit" was more of a 'tradition' than serious 'belief' where they go to draw their luck fortune versus praying to a specific god (tho i know there's etiquette and specifications on 'how' to pray/a number of time to bow and clap but at the very least it's treated as more respectful, or some more 'lighthearted' series just having a trope of someone that has more of a 'spiritual' sense)So what kind of superhuman powers of perception does Kumuguya even have lol

Yeah it seems the other boy working there (Takuma) was also spirited away, with how Kumuguya says Aya reminds her of him immediately before asking Aya if she'd been spirited away.My boring guess is she was also spirited away or knows someone who was, and did some basic research around the girl she was hiring, since there would be online newspaper archives that mentioned Aya's disappearance.
The voice of reason using her best friend break up to get closer to herI'm glad Erika is once again the voice of reason and being annoyed that someone can't move on is really rich coming from her...
