yeah other than being some rich nepo baby who has the time let alone money XD; other than that one story about some donor fathering a bunch of kid and someone making a tweet like "it's all fun and games til you go on a blind date with a half sibling"
i mean, an affair i can understand (but not condone) but a full on second family doesn't seem like it's worth it esp when a lot of married men have affairs so they can date a 'single woman' not tied down if not i guess some swingers or being with another married woman or so and both ending up shit talking their partners or so
Lots of multi-family dads the mom(s) are at least marginally employed. I'm more on the train of...
I have a hard enough time making time for hobbies and non-couple friends when I'm dating. Trying to hang out with my en-childed friends is a scheduling nightmare unless the grandparents are in town.
I can see how you'd have time to squeeze in a side piece and give them enough attention for a semi-serious relationship. I have no idea how you find time for a family on one side of the country, and being able to run a relationship for the other woman to decide "yes, this guy being completely off the grid 5 nights a week is who I want to marry".
And i guess the other thing that boils the ol' noodle is its never a sensible job. My buddy is an airline pilot who basically works for a week then is off for a week. He has had multiple relationships fall apart because the girl he was dating couldn't get her head around there are times when he just will not be available. Plus you know, airline. I could see him having the ability and cover to have multiple families. But its always jobs like "insurance salesman" or "construction manager" where sure there's travel involved but its not like they can't call to check in.
It's not worth it if you're only looking for sex and affection.
If you're obsessed with spreading your genes, getting a particular gender child (Henry the 8th) or have a personal race-identity/political obsession causing it (Boris Johnson) then there's a vile logic to it.
You never hear of any women having secret families with multiple guys on both coasts.
Check mate, misogynist.
I shouldn't need to do this, but I know where I'm posting, so: /s
