Considering this story is apparently 50 chapters, that is likely. However, the story has been surprisingly straight-forward so we might be overthinking it.Chances it isn't her and all the times she was "understanding" in the past were really her laughing at her friends' misfortune?
MILK SHAMPOO, MASON! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
I kinda think Rio explains why when she's like "well maybe it's your fault". Some folks explicitly aim for the partners of folks they know as a way to prove that they're better (more desirable, a better partner, etc) than the person being cheated on. It's a way to 'win' at the pecking order. But also why Rei as in, why your friends husband?
Momoka(sp?)her name escapes me but Haruto’s sis)
There is also a huge pervasive mentality in Japan (and other countries to an extent of course), though especially among Japanese married men, that cheating is permissible. I was actually trying to gather some of this data to present in a future tl note if I have the time but yeah there's a lot of stuff here that's cultural.I think the best way for Mahoro to get even more secure in her findings is finding out who uses the hair milk. Well Kyouko is already out, Rio and (her name escapes me but Haruto’s sis) could either both use it or just one of them. Now the question is of course how are you going to find out without being suspicious.
Also, Rio does seem to be hiding something and her smile can definitely be read as bitter. As in cheating being brought up can strike a nerve if she’s been through it, especially if she’s the kind of person who tries to look perfect to others even though they are miserable inside.
Of course she could also just be the mistress. But in that case, my biggest question would be why?
Why Rei? As in him as a person as he doesn’t seem like the best husband. But also why Rei as in, why your friends husband? Does she even see Mahoro as an actual friend? And why cheat? Did Rio’s husband cheat? Or does he neglect her and she considers that enough reason as to cheat? Remember that as explained in a previous chapter, getting divorced is actually quite hard in Japan, especially if your partner doesn’t want to divorce and they didn’t do anything ‘wrong’ in the marriage. I do think that Japans strict rules for divorce are a contributing factor to people cheating amongst many other things.
Yeah it’s pretty shocking but just sex with a sex worker is surprisingly not seen as cheating by a pretty large group of people, both men and women. Would be really cool if you can add that. Loved that the difficulties regarding divorce was added because that adds a lot to the story imo. There is also a huge pervasive mentality in Japan (and other countries to an extent of course), though especially among Japanese married men, that cheating is permissible. Ah I didn’t even think of that but that could absolutely be a reason for it. And yeah it was Momoka lol.I kinda think Rio explains why when she's like "well maybe it's your fault". Granted dunno if Rio is cheating with Rei or just bitter b/c her marriage is a mess.
Momoka(sp?)
❌ Poker FaceIt’s time for a talk!!! I would’ve got more solid proof before talking to him but who knows? She could be recording and something tells me Rei ain’t got a poker face like Rio.
I'm curious if Rio's husband actually exists now.I'm 100% convinced that Rios smirk from this chapter and last is actually in relation to whenever the concept of cheating comes up and she relates it to her marriage. Not anybody else's. Last chapter she smirked when hearing about cheating from mahoros marriage, and this chapter she smirked when she's asked hows her own marriage is going. There is absolutely some baggage with her own marriage that she doesn't want to blurt out.
