It is probably a big no no in Japan. But also if that somehow leaks to Rei she’s in trouble. She wants to have her shit together plus proof of his infidelity before handing him the divorce papers.

Dont underestimate people’s pettiness. Mean co-workers that overhear such things could absolutely try and find out Rei’s contact info and telling him that Mahoro wants a divorce.
