It's kind of hard to believe they're hard up of funds when they keep picking up more and more series, but no doubt they do need some level of donations to keep their web server on, no idea if they're buying their own raws to scan.

@BirchJuice I don't think that was what @Kaarme was getting at, he obviously knows (well, hopefully) that middle age china and medieval europe look different, I think he was just responding to chenando's comment of "well obviously from the buildings looking chinese, there's a plot link to china". In fantasy stories there are multitudes of settings (even in isekai) which have their architecture modeled after medieval europe, and many times it's just taken for granted, and it doesn't have a greater meaning beyond just "the author wanted to use medieval architecture in their story".

So he was just saying "just like how medieval architecture shows up in other worlds and isn't necessarily plot-connected to earth and europe, chinese architecture showing up doesn't necessarily mean that it's due to a plot connection to chinese otherworlders", since chinese architecture showing up could just be the author deciding they want a token eastern country to pop up next to their european setting. That kind of thing's been done for ages, especially in RPGs.

@bosbarret yes, it's a bit different.

the spirit turtle in the WN got decapitated by Raphtalia, but the head keeps on regenerating so fast it doesn't stop moving unlike here. It's a bit more hectic and hard for Naofumi to get in the back on the spirit turtle in WN since it's still moving and flying monters and zombies keeps on attacking them without any rest. They would only found the japanese scripts a bit later when they start searching for a way to seal the heart of the spirit turtle. They introduced eclaire and peerless grandma a bit early here compared to WN, I'm pretty sure they introduced in WN after this arc.

in short, yes LN is a bit different compared to WN. They added more characters and events to fill the plotholes, and possibly change the ending a bit.

Edit: Added this spoiler just in case, but I can't actually called this a spoiler anymore since it has the same timeline with the WN already, but oh well, I don't want to be bothered people quoting me that this is spoiler, lol.

I recall the original WN ending of this is not that actually of a "Good" Ending. In the end, Naofumi got killed in the final battle and he woke up in the library. It didn't mention what happened to the other world but we can safely assume it got destroyed. I actually can't remember that much in this part because I hate this ending. The author actually need to add more chapters in WN for a different ending because of the backlash on the original ending.

@slayerdart Slight spoiler
Was that the original ending? or is it after being recalled by whatever cosmic entities and he gains space/time God powers, gets ressurected and ended everything by dispersing the God-threat bitch?

@kingguy3 Yep, that's the original ending. The author removed it though so it's gonna be hard to find that ending.
If I remember it was the confrontation with goddess where the heroes got killed (except the bow) and they we're transported back to their respected worlds. Like the story never happended. After that was the revised good ending.

pg 27 reminds of that Chinese kid who defaced an ancient Egyptian temple by scratching his name into the hieroglyphics followed by "was here"

The whole thing about defacing stuff reminds me of that time some dude stole a skull from some historical site. He chronicled his adventure doing so on 4chan, and naturally when the people posting in his thread told him to stick his dick in it, he did. Pics to prove it and everything.

After reading so many Xianxia manhua...the old grandma character reminds me of a cultivator. Hell, the top of the Spirit Turtle reminds me of the setting in most of those Xianxia stories...

@0takuDragonSlayer Abuse can be delivered in more ways that just physically...emotion, verbal, and psychological abuse is a thing, too. The guy is still an asshole...
