Thing is that while that may be how it seems on the surface I feel there’s more to it. Her face when she’s telling him about giving up her right wasnt her normal smile that we’ve seen many times before. My guess is she did it cause she thought it would be better for him to be on it then her. This is backed by the way the nobles were talking about her and making up the rumor that she was trying to kill him. They would never have stood for her being on the throne due to her thoughts about magicology.

Honestly it feels like the one that set this whole debacle off was his teacher, who forced him to let a commoner die and said bad things about her, and the nobles

Of course I’m basing all this off of what I’m seeing on the manga. Maybe the novel goes more in depth about this and it turns out I’m completely off the mark in this comment
Maybe... but she should have properly communicated with him... but she didn't...
Sad, but at the same time, he chose the path he took knowingly. Becoming a monster after using and almost killing a vampire, he became so up his own ass in his own thoughts that he didn't look outside his bubble for a better solution that was staring right at him in the face. Similar in contrast to Anise who was clearly so obsessed with magic that she didn't pay attention to how her family might feel. Pretty realistic turn of events. Their parents also should feel some responsibility for this.
His goal is to crush them... not a complete wrong goal really... but maybe it could be done better....

You know what? These last few updates have been pushing me into the Prince's camp. The princess bailed when people criticized her and pushed everything on him. She has no right to complain now that he's doing things his way. He's trying to overturn the social order. Not saying I agree with this methods but it makes sense given the people who pushed him into a corner.

Warning: moderators, you can ban me forever if you want if you don't like my comment, I don't even care anymore. Freedom of opinion is only a bullshit anyway. What a bunch of hypocritical idiots. You only applied it for one side. Pathetic.

Every politicians, whether it's in real life, or in a manga, they're nothing but sons of whores. Playing the victim cards when they're found that they're doing corruptions and evil things, like when Israelis are killing Palestinians for no good reasons or when LGBTQ supporters are grooming kids to be trans and gays. You guys are nothing but monsters. So go fuck yourself, you monsters. This manga reminds me of what you all did and makes me want to say this. Remember, you will have to take responsibility of all you did in the afterlife. Life is short.
Bro really thought the best place to die on this hill was in the comment section of a manga lmao.

This opinion taken after watching the anime so might contain spoiler.

In short: There is no winning for both Algard or Anise.

Even if Anise still holding on her responsibility, all waiting for her is a miserable life. If she holding on her Magicology, the nobility would presumably unhappy and might even rebelled. Even if she dropping her magicology, the nobility would only sees her as a baby factory. You do see how they quickly spread rumor of Anise want to kill Algard?
Algard, in other hand, falls into 'road to hell paved with good intention'. I can sympathize to him. I still cannot condone how he willing to sacrifice the innocent for his-supposed 'revolution', all while still colluding with the ministry.
Truly it probably would make much difference if both sibling actually, you know, talk and unite to change the rotten nobility. But IIRC Algard closed himself to Anis after she abdicate, and Anis feels too guilty to try to connect with Algard again.

10% of this series has been exposition on the prince Mid fight while characters are grievously wounded. 1/4th of the year has been this fight and finding out the motivations and past of the brother.

I just wanted some Yuri and Magic and I'm getting so much information on a character I don't care about. It's killing all the enjoyment I've had so far.
This is Shakespeare masquerading as Gay Baywatch.

She abandoned her claim to the throne in order to simplify Al's life. She didn't want it and nobility hated her and would not have accepted her rule. She gave up the claim and focused entirely on her research.

Al snapped. He could have tried to cooperate with his sister, but he decided to do everything alone.

Can't even be completely mad at Algard now. Those Nobles are a bunch of conservatives moron that won't accepted change because of their stupid pride and what caused both siblings to drift apart. Algard's plan aren't the best, but given how the Nobles wouldn't listen to anyone, options are limited. The next Arc is going to be one painful moments for our Princesses

Now that I readed it I slightly can better understand Algard and why he would do that
In writing the Manga is much better then the Anime
You do? I'm the opposite, I genuinely don't understand why her sister giving up her right to the throne would make him a mess.
He witnessed the stupidity and the elitarism of the kingdom and the whole birth magic thing in the passing of the poor girl's mother, so he should have understood that her sister's research was vital for the country...and instead of sister being part of a court that despised magicology, she could had more time researching by leaving it.
Also, the whole incident in the forest stirred up a lot of hatred for her so I believe she was somewhat forced to give up the succession (maybe in exchange to letting her continue the research, at the risk of being labelled as heretical if she didn't gave up the rights).

All in all, it was all a court thing, so zero sense in resenting FMC when he was a child and in fighting her now. He could have been the "convenient king" that he says, but convenient for her, ruling to make magicology on a wide scale...instead he chose to assault her sister's friend and go on with a crazy plot.

Nah, again, 0 sense

nah prince still sucks. he correctly id'd the root cause but then decided that the proper course of action was to murder a young woman so he could isolate and assassinate his sister, who also wants to defeat the people he thinks are responsible for all this mess. classic dumbass shit but hell im here for it

i'll def keep reading this tho because the investment is like 0 at a release rate of like half a chapter every seventeen months and i really dug it at the beginning (and still mostly dig it now)
