@Doomer : Since your memories seem to be failing you grandpa, the spirits did cut off magic for the kingdom once.
Immediately the king/priest point fingers at nobles who were less inclined for war and use them as scapegoat saying "THIS IS BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL AGAINST THE WARRRRRRR"
Could Ruri have pin point specific people to cut magic off? Possibly, but that'd also requires she learn of who is for war and who isn't and frankly she'd rather not be involved with that country at all if possible.
And even then the king/priest can bullshit another excuse to the oblivious mass.

@viewtiful : Can you really blame her though? She spent 10+ years with Asahi, likely trying all kind of methods including saying it to her face even before now, and it all failed.
She went in with very low expectation for any success to begin with. She got angry because Asahi not only ignored her warning but even escalate her own danger by going with the army to war.

I can't remember, but do the humans have any significant advantages over the other races? I think they have a bigger population and more land, but that doesn't justify how outclassed they seem to be by everyone else. The dragons and beasts have more strength, regen, longer lives, and best of all, the ability to see and interact with faries, the friggin sources of life. Whereas what do the humans get? They obviously can't have stronger magic, their kingdoms don't look like they're more technologically advanced, and I can't even believe they have more intelligence/wisdom if they want to wage this pointless war that includes starving their citizens and killing off the only apparent heir to an old ass king. Really, I hope having a bigger population increases the chances of a precious one being born among them cause they're basically second class.

Reminder that while the fairies are good to MC, they're... they're pretty stupid. They won't be able to tell if something is good or bad. They have this childish arrogance that makes them they're above everyone (which they are) and would probably destroy an entire kingdom for shits and giggles.

They trust the MC but that doesn't mean the MC controls them. They do whatever they want.
