the new guy kinda looks like the typical arrogant character whose only purpose in a story is to make the MC's posse look better. But that's only speculation

7 yo kid besting any adult in combat is simply impossible. 10 yo kid being able to actually plan a huge party is equally impossible. Adults relying on a 10 yo kid is just stupid.
Thats the funny thing about all this and also my main problem with the story so far.

Bro’s 7 and is treated like some kind of important adult by everyone. It’s also just impossible no matter how competant for a kid to be a full grown man.

There are tons here who has not gotten the anime logic yet.

Or maybe they're just tourists.

I wonder why they would be posting here? Its not like the TL can do anything about it. Any alterations made by the TL will just be wrong to do.

If people have a problem with it, just remember: Anime logic.

Or contact the author directly. Good luck on that then.

I for one am just thankful that the TLer is sticking to the source and not "localizing" things.

Considering the scourge that is "official localizers" on official channels, I'm quite happy with someone just TLing things straight.

Those ages just have to be a some kind translation error, considering how both of them look or act, not to mention how weird a party like this is to someone aged ten. Young children of high standing were often held very close to chest outside of select circles. If you are aiming at something like a debutante with this, you are at least half a decade off. That aside, even outwardly, has the author actually seen a child? Interacted with one?

Not that I actually suspect a TL error, I'm just grasping at straws.
I was surprised myself, but it checks out with the webnovel too.

I have no idea why people can't understand the kids being capable and strong in a medieval fantasy setting. I mean I don't want to dump on the current gens, but even 80's kids were having full blown adventures that people wouldn't dream about today (RE: The Goonies, Monster Squad, probably some others).

Anime logic is not an excuse for author being simply bad at writing/drawing kids and/or lacking imagination to put his own story together in a believable way and/or editors not giving a fuck and okaying it.
You have isekai stories where a kid is acting more mature/knowing more than he'd reasonably could for his age, but it's properly explained in the story. Even something simple like "i remained conscious through the whole process and was an adult trapped in a toddler body/my consciousness overwritten the original at a certain age" is good enough.
You can even give reasons why he would be stronger/look years older than he should.
Here we have zero attempts at even trying to explain that - this is not anime logic, this is simply bad writing. You can break rules (as in any creative field tbh) - but you have to know about them first, and do that intentionally, in a consistent way, with a purpose. Here we have nothing of that.

I agree with you about not trying to fix it in translation - this was an editor's job (and manga author, unless he had zero information about the source material which i highly doubt). But i fail to see a problem with discussing about it in comments section for this specific manga - isn't this why this thread is here?

To a certain limit. You can have a strong 7 yo kid - but there's no possibility that he can beat an adult with a sword, no matter how good he is. You can have a smart 10 yo kid - but he won't be able to plan a whole noble party better than adults. There are physical and mental limits that do apply to kids.
//Haven't seen the movies myself - but from what i see they are both comedy. By chance, isn't that gap between kids and being actually capable the comedic factor in these movies? Like Home Alone?

Considering Japan's natality rate...
But seriously, people who are trying to argue she's flat also have never seen a 10-year-old child.
Elenore has a figure. She has hips and a waistline. Kids are quite literally all box-shaped up until puberty.

Or just basic body proportions, like limb length. If you you've ever seen video games just downscale adult bodies to child sizes for some very cursed results, well, yeah.
