It's quite something when ya remember this mc is utterly useless without his unique ability

Not that useless.
He managed to slowly reduce the slime until it became afraid of it and starts smokescreening.

He's useless in the sense that he focused ALL his point on his auto skill which is why he generally sucks

I wouldn't say he's really useless, in the begining he was about (or slightly below) average for the rank he was on, ie nothing special, he's now lately shown (or grown) to be atleast around the top third in his rank (without the auto skill use that is, it would seem some of the body's "experience" when using the skill sticks around, so to speak), it's just that his auto skill performs like he's 2 ranks higher than he is normaly (like an amateur boxer/fighter suddenly gains the skills/experience of a champion)
