This means she already had the said desires in the first place
The priestess/goddess just removed her self-restraint. The desire to do so was still her own. It's like saying someone isn't to blame for a racist screed they post to twitter when they were high as a kite and then try to make it better with a "this is not who I am" post afterward; no amount of LSD is going to make you do anything you weren't already thinking about doing. An "i'm sorry" doesn't make the horrible things you said and did un-happen. It is a reason, not an excuse.
Isn’t the Goddess of Love’s whole thing amplifying desire though?
Like Victoria definitely loves Raoul, but love without restraint is lust. Victoria literally fully loses the ability to take no for an answer and isn’t mentally able to control her actions. She never willingly made the decision to become like this either. Drugs yes inhibit your self restraint but they are a choice and YOU are ultimately responsible for taking them in the first place.
Think about it like someone sprinkling aphrodisiac in your drink, mate. Can you then say the feelings afterward are your inner most desires or not just the aphrodisiac?
Heck if we wanna go further the Goddess of Love can control Victoria (she does so to rape Raoul in Victorias body) and the Goddess even states she ruined Raoul’s life so he would only lust for her.
Victoria’s definitely an arrogant classist but I wouldn’t say she’s completely in the wrong for effectively being controlled and drugged into ruining Raoul’s life. Atleast in terms of all the lust related stuff. (Cause she definitly wasn’t an angel having Sandra kill her brothers to prove her loyalty, killing all other heirs, and threatening other people and who knows what else)
