@ILikeCocaColaWithMyNameOnIt That is exactly why humans are hypocritical. If I were to tell you : a man violated a maiden, young and chaste. You would in all likelihood be ready to throw upon the man a never ending hell, even more so if you happen to be a female yourself. However, as for now the man himself was a one without any context. Let us add to the context as to how vile and rotten this maiden was, who destroyed the man in every horrendous way possible. This would affect your view significantly, and might outright flip it, for the good or the worse ( there are all sorts of individuals ). Now as you spoke of : 'the protagonist was not well developed for me to care for him in any way'. This is what hypocrisy is : Here you are trying to compare him to yourself, you are trying to fit the character into the human norms, robbing him of his freedom. Would it justify vengeance if his past was tragic? Would it justify it if you care for him? Conversely, Is it a sin to defile a maiden? Is it a sin to assault the innocent? What defines a sin? What defines innocence? Who justifies the innocence of the God that you speak of? What is good? What is evil? These questions are often very abstract and the answer varies amongst individuals. And that is what makes humans hypocritical. Our very existence is hypocrisy itself and so was me making the statement 'Condemning others is hypocritical' itself hypocritical. And it is not something that should one be ashamed of is what I think. Enough with the abstract talk, onto the next topic :
Reading such a manga, I doubt you are someone who does not enjoy or maybe get-off? to such content. However, the moment you spoke of "rape", just ruined your statement. I shall inform you, I have not seen any "rape" as far as the definition of the word is concerned. Well unless you call a man murdering a woman rape? Which makes me wonder if he also raped men? Although I wouldn't blame you. Gender is what many people take pride in. And so you would be happier if a woman were to "rape" a woman, rather than a man?
On that note, it is hilarious that such "modern revenge manga" mostly have villains of the opposite sex. If you have a male protagonist, the villain is most likely a female. If you have female protagonist, the villain has got to be a male. This just reinforces the notion of how everything can be related to gender. It is just amusing to see how lustful humans are and they want equality? As if!
