after reading all your version of spoiler, why did I find it different with my version? probably because the understanding of mtl
[ul]the royal family, archduke, his dad, and his grandmother know about olivia origin, but the dad and grandmother only know about the status but dont know about their power because istarica is located on another continent which is nearly impossible for their transportation tech to reach, but it is different for the royals and archduke because they have seen it or hear it in the past by sending their family to study abroad. so the dad and grandmother underestimated them.[/ul]
[ul]the only one who knows about the reason why olivia married into roundheart was the king. and that is to research about how to mine sea crystal beneath roundheart coastal territory. the king thought that it wasnt an important crystal because the different on the tech both country use, it is not important for heim kingdom, so the king redeem it as an advantage to have diplomatical marriage between both country. even the dad didnt know about that underwater mine. and later olivia found out about other mine in neighbouring country and has done a secret research about how to mine it.[/ul]
[ul]Ain wasnt created by combining the dad's DNA, but he was born only by olivia's root by stemming method, so later in the story ain doesnt have any familial feelings about roundheart family.[/ul]

I have some... issues with the ship design.
Who the hell plans for two different calibre guns to be mounted on top of eachother?

@Robbini True, i like the design in itself, looking different to typical fantasyshipthingis, but this doubleturret is bonkers... xD

I mean, think of the ammo / loading elevator. Would they have one with both calibres transporting one or both at all time ? Or two entirely separate elevators ? Or magic teleportation to transport ? Think of the explosion risks.

As for the broadside cannons... stability with volleys might be a problem how they're that high on the hull.

I mean, the design looks like a mix between a modern battleship, a luxury liner cruise ship and an old wooden ship of the line .

@Robbini I think its a cool design as a more civilian ship, the weapons seem just wrong there, broadsideweapons, as you said, too high in on the structure, the weird doubleturret (i mean, even if you do manage the munitionproblems, you cant fire both at the same time anyway if you want to hit anything... :D).

I would get rid of the top turret, making the main turret double-barrel, and the broadside, either take the top-row and put it in new ports below the other, or lower the ship itself (it seems to sit too high in the water for me) to a more normal level and lower the upper row to the windows above the lower row. Well, or get rid of the 2nd row at all, make it more of a armed transport, like for royalty, which it seems to be designed for (luxurywise), instead of trying to buff it up with moaaar guns :D

But as said, i think its a refreshing change from the standard designs :D

For the doubleturret, it does look like there's some part inbetween them, meaning they should be movable separately to some degree.

As for the broadside cannons... atleast for our 'earthly versions' of that type of ship, if they have more than one row of cannons, they tend to be under the deck, partially to balance the ship as well.
Of course, back when we still had wooden broadside ships, they couldn't really have any superstructure (basically what's built on top of the deck).
But when we started using steel ships, we started placing batteries here and there over the deck and superstructures.
'Course, the difference of fighting in rough seas between the two types is that if they use broadsides, they can literally let in too much water through the gunwhales to sink, whereas on modern, that's pretty much impossible, especially considering there are no gunwhales.

Basically, it's as if someone wanted a ship described with 'The appearance and comfort of a cruise liner , the heavy batteries of modern types at the bow and possibly stern and some serious port and starboard sides, which due to the limited space have to become broadsides like that'

@Robbini : Yeh, my remark about not hitting was more about the vibrations, gun blast and stuff :D It isnt a coincidence that most ships in the time we would place that ship (would place it about 1900 probably compared with our timeline?) which had turrets seldom used the free space on top of the turrets at all. (I dare someone to find any ship that used a double artillery-turrets, anything with sufficent caliber needs a turretbasket and thats so impractical, that i dont even find a word for it :D the worst was the american idea to top off the main turret with guns of smaller caliber, but they were technically in the same turret, making it more like a 4 gun turret with 2 calibres, not able to move seperatly, and even that was like a one time thing, because really dumb and way too complicated to deal with :D)

Thanks for the chapter!
Why is the Archduke considering Ain not being allowed in a mistake on is family's part? It's great willing to admit making a mistake and taking responsibility for it but the whole mess was created by Logas' second wife as a means to humiliate and bully Olivia and Ain while promoting her son Glint. She knew could only take one child and didn't bother to inform Logas so he didn't find out until they got there while insisting on bringing Glint along and setting things up so he'd get inside first. After investigating Archduke would've discovered the family had been informed about the one child limit but had decided to ignore it so it's not his or his family's or servants' fault.
BTW, doesn't this mean AIn proposed to Olivia when he gave her a Star Crystal?
LN describes it better, but that ring Olivia destroyed so easily was made for nobility so it was made of extremely durable and rustproof materials. Her being able to make it look so easy is proof that she is very magically talented and strong. Also, the ship's name is the "Princess Olivia". LN explains further that one of reasons King wasn't informed about Olivia's return was that he'd likely send the "White King" to pick her up instead. The difference is the "White King" is a lot bigger and more heavily armed than the "Princess Olivia". Like the difference between a lightly armed luxury cruise ship and a modern, nuclear powered, fully armed battleship. Speaking of ships, anyone know the usual length of ships, mounted guns, and number of broadside cannons back in the days of pirates and modern ships as a comparison?
That and the earring she used is an extremely rare and expensive communication item. I think it can only send messages but it was given to Olivia in case she needed to be rescued from Logas or the kingdom. Part of the reason it's expensive is that it takes a lot of MP just to send a message short distances so making something powerful enough to go outside the kingdom, across the sea, and reach her homeland takes an extreme amount of MP. Likely will take a heck of a long time to recharge the battery hence it being a one use, one way message due to prioritizing long distance coverage over repeated use or receiving messages.
Logas is really a terrible husband. Not only turning a blind eye to Grint and his mother's bullying, but not even bothering to inform Olivia that Ain can't get in himself much less that he's going to another party. Furthermore having her find out from having to ask around after he left without a message so she and Ain would have to make the two to three hour trip back without him and at such a late hour that the date might change before they arrive home. LN mentions that rather than apologizing or acknowledging did something bad that the solution to the matter was to get candy for Ain which would make him happy which then would make Olivia happy. Wonder if had tried that if Ain would have thrown the candy in Logas' face and demanded a proper apology to Olivia?

@udesu
Olivia didn't marry into the kingdom to learn how to mine sea crystals (higher grade of magic crystals,) or the crystals only being in Roundheart territory but because Ishtalica had already mined out all the sea crystals in their territory. She married Logas in exchange for Ishtalica to have access to the sea crystals in the kingdom's territory, not just Roundheart territory, among a few other things for both sides. As for Logas he might've been picked by the kingdom to marry her due to rewarding his war record and gaining the title Hero. Whether or not he knew Olivia true identity or just the cover story is unknown at this point. Although considering what a musclebrained idiot he is can't say that he didn't forget or understand her true status. Also, it's not nearly impossible for the kingdom's current tech to reach Ishtalica, just dangerous and expensive. Under normal conditions a merchant ship can arrive after sailing for two days. The danger and expense is due to hiring escort ships with strong adventurers for protection as the further away from land you get, the deeper the ocean floor is and the bigger the sea monsters get. Like giant sea serpents, squids, octopi, and others which can sink undefended ships.

yeah, I said it is nearly impossible because of that reason
They could make it but its too dangerous for their current ship to safely arrive, they could make it, if they are lucky to not sink into the sea or being eaten by sea monster.
hence I said it is nearly impossible for normal ship

@GerryCerryBery It may be one of the most precious jewels in the kingdom, but he's already used to seeing THE most precious jewel in the kingdom, which is called Claune.

Like seriously why is every reincarnation of an adult male retarded to the extent that a goldfish is smarter.
