if I remember correctly, it was said that this was common knowledge, but because he was obsessed with his totems, he never paid attention to these kind of stuff unless it was related to magic or totems. So really, it is his fault for not clearing things up before. He has the mind of a reincarnated adult, can't really treat him like an ignorant kid, otherwise he also wouldn't know what incest is.

I think there was another example were something similar happened, something everybody knew but he didn't cause he didn't care to learn about it and caused a confusion or trouble - could be confusing this with other mangas, not sure

We also knew his sister would be a yandere, but I'm curious if yandere powers include knives that can do things they normally can't. Like that knife plunging into magically treated and hardened wood without breaking or chipping. Gasai Yuno was able to sever entire heads with her knife, which shouldn't be possible.

@cor3zone I dunno, but the mom was already expressing concern about what she thought was Abel's position on the issue (from the time he cooped himself in the Chief's house), but then again jerk dad scoffs it. I guess the concept of a "family consensus" is alien to that clan and Abel.

@cor3zone ok this discussion its getting a bit headed so i will stop here, here's my last response:

I dont have a proper method for him to cancel the wedding but i can think of a couple of things like him asking the other girl, the chief granddaughter was it? to fake an engagement with him or to help him to convince the parents, or he could just go ham and threathen to destroy the village if they keep trying to force him, that way he could maybe be expelled and that way he also fulfills his objective, but he had options, hell he could've gone dark and acted as he liked to abuse her (insults and even hitting her) in front of everyone they would probably cancel the whole thing, but that obviusly isnt something he would do.

Some options may be horrible but he did had chances to try, at least for me giving up is worse than not trying.
