If she is the only woman whom he can touch, no way in *bleep* is he letting her go after the "sham engagement" ends.
He's at least attempting to be semi-decent about it, but his aides... well, they don't seem to want to take any chances, not realizing that they really don't want to scare her off by being too high-handed.
I mean, if she really is the only female he can touch, unless you want to enslave her she does have room to maneuver and significant bargaining power, so don't go getting her back up, yes?

And... yes, somehow magic has to tie into all of this. Because the premise won't work otherwise.

An interesting premise. I'm surprised the prince only said until the end of the banquet though. Putting myself in his shoes, for the first time in his life, he can hold and touch a woman without hurting her. Lynette might as well be the last woman on earth for him.

Then again, maybe he just doesn't want to come on too strong too soon. Almost certainly, she could gun for being his wife and get it immediately if she wanted.

@MCX01 Perhaps it's actually because it's a country with no magic. If I had to guess, either the prince has a mana-killing effect and the Lynette is a rare woman who has absolutely zero mana in her, or the prince amplifies mana to the extreme and she's one of the few people who has potential as a mage so her body can handle it.

How did his mom carry him to term and give birth to him if she can't touch him? I can just imagine her getting severe morning sickness for the first few months of pregnancy, then falling into a coma during the last few. I'm surprised she didn't die or miscarry.

Or maybe it's just a problem that developed after he was born as he got older?
