I haven't even skimmed this for weeks, was curious what's going on, as you are with car crashes, and I immediately feel like punching Kazuya in the face...

Sigh. At this point in the story, even a potato would have figured out that Chizuru's interested. But not Kazuya. She can confess to him, face to face, and he will still try looking over his shoulder to see if Umi isn't standing behind him...

Is it really still selling in Japan? Because if so, that's just sad... I can't even justify spending 30 seconds to skim through it for free.

From what I heard, he goes on dates with dolls that resemble the character from his own manga. IF that is the case, this manga is 100% lost and it's just him just continuing his fantasy of oggling his own waifu from afar

Here's how this could have been done better.

After the apartment building was rendered unlivable. Kazuya would find out he can't go back home and does like he always does, lies. He tells his family he's staying with Chizuru, and tells Chizuru he's staying at a friends place.
In reality he's living in a manga cafe/cheap hotels in less than safe parts of town. One night he's assaulted, winds up in the hospital, no body knows because his wallet was stolen.

Chizuru, finally having gotten space, has time to reflect on his stupid ass and realizes that she may have feelings for him.
Meanwhile Kazuya is missing and no one seems to know where he is. His grandmother reaches out to Chizuru who realizes that he was lying to his family about staying with her. She doesn't rat him out because she either likes him or doesn't want to mess with the grandmothers illusions and also because she's a terrible person too and just likes lying.

Chizuru mobilizes all the friends to find Kazuya, who, it turns out was pretty easy to track down because his wallet was found, id intact, in the alley by the hotel he was staying at. They ask the hotel if he was there, and they find out that someone was recently taken to the hospital.
They all converge on the hospital to find Kazuya in critical condition. Chizuru, realizes her feelings, and repeats the thousand steps thing at the shrine like she did for her grandfather. This time it works, Kazuya wakes up. She confesses, they live happily ever after, lying to everyone about everything because they both suck.

Bonus: Kazuya gets beat up, everyone likes that.

Alternately: Kazuya gets hit by a car and everyone else lives better lives as a result of him having been isekai'd to the Re:Zero universe.

Others have posted an ending and similarly it ended with Kazuya in the hospital, Chizuru thousand steps, and happily ever after.

Is there a reason why people are suggesting it ends with those 3 points?

Parsing through this manga to find content is exhausting. You're more than welcome to provide thoughtful commentary but even if I could be arsed myself, I don't really see anything not worthy in this chapter.

Umi cut off any hint of resolution about his confession so that thread is left hanging, than we got a full chapter, again, of Kazuya self-doubt internal monologues. Chizuru looking cute but not doing much else. Yaemori being bro.

I get that there might be a few people bitching about this just because it's become a meme so they join the fun, but really there's nothing else to do. The rare times there's anything noteworthy I really don't mind changing my tune but this week, I wasn't going to say anything else but 'Okay?' so I would have kept to myself before seeing a rare KanoKari fan in the wild.

God Damn!...this is milking it way to hard. This chapter gave us nothing...and the next one is going to resolve the nothing that this chapter gave us. I could write a Manga with ideas like this. The end is not near...with the pacing the author is giving, I think 200 more chapters won't resolve the story

It's the previous chapter, it ends like that but she doesn't see it. And cuckzuya is ntr'ing chorizo she finds out her grandma is hospitalized if I remember correctly
