And I've read one too many series where big brothers try to, and sometimes successfully steal little brother's girl.

@FredFriendly I guess it might be an issue of mindset, then. To clarify what happened, Reiji is into Ruu-chan and was just teasing little bro/Fukami-kun. Akio-chan didn't blush at all from the hugs and is clearly quite disinterested, it's just that she's such a sucker for cats. I suppose you expect Akio-chan to push away, rather than merely not blush. But as established in previous chapters (e.g. chapter 1), if she doesn't really care about the person, she's practically a robot when it comes to those things.

Edit: Should probably put something in about the chapter... I have a feeling that the big brother’s eyes are only on the cat, and he’s “going after” Higurashi just to give Issei a hard time.

@OmniscientOnion Thanks for staying on topic with that edit, haha. Yeah, let me make it clear that big bro is into the cat, because it seems that wasn't as apparent as I had thought.

As for Saeki, when I flipped to the table of contents and saw the words "final chapter", I was crushed, devastated, snapped away into dust.

@sleepyfoxscanlations We don't actually see Higurashi's face while she's being hugged and it isn't so clear to me, yet, that she's "quite disinterested". Even if that's the case, that doesn't mean that big brother won't fall for Higurashi (if he hasn't already) and try his best to steal her from little brother. The first time big brother hugged her he didn't know that she was little brother's love interest so he wasn't teasing little brother. Besides, I doubt it was teasing anyway, it's just big brother is a man slut and has no respect for other people's personal space and believes that all women are in love with him and would want him to hug them.

Anyhow, looks like I'm not the only one that finds big brother annoying and hope he goes away again as soon as possible.

@sleepyfoxscanlations still, the brother is a jerk. No matter even if he didn't meant to, he's causing trouble for everybody and ignorance is not a justified excuse. I loathe this type of character... I liked his sister much better, at least she's not mentally braindead like this.

Edit: @Kuraiaku I never said he wasn't annoying, heh. A side note, I may or may not have made him sound even more ostentatious than the mangaka originally intended. Translating his fancy pants playboy lines was a bit tough for me as it's so far removed from anything that I would ever do.
