@sleepyfoxscanlations Ah, thanks. Here in Korea, where a lot of institutional stuff is borrowed from Japan,
an assistant professor (助敎授) does not have tenure while an associate professor (副敎授) does, so I was wondering whether it works like that in Japan as well.
After looking some things up, it appears most associate professors do not have tenure in Korea either (but some do), so I suppose it’s similar to Japan.
